Hi mandy,

It look`s like the sound card driver is missing may have been deleted your best bet is to re-nstall your sound card drivers in most cases that does the job if that dont work you will need to replace your sound card.

You might have muted the sound. So to fix your problem follow the easy steps
  • Click start
  • Go to control panel
  • Click "sound,speech and audio.devices"
  • Click the second option "Sound and audio devices"
  • If there is a tick on mute undo it then Click on OK and then click on "Apply"

SOUND PROBLEM

Sounds like a loose connection. If you are using speakers, try headphones. Try changing cables or re-seating the sound card if you have one

Audio Breaks

Hello vatsala,

Try downloading and installing the latest sound drive available for your motherboard. Here is the link.

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/D845GVSR/

If that doesn’t work, try using another set of speakers to make sure it’s not your speakers that are bad and if that doesn't work, you may have a bad sound card and will need to put in new sound card.

Sincerely,

Agent Xiong
