Help i have the Plantronics CS50 wireless headset. Not sure what happened but now when i take the earpiece off from the base, it does not turn on anymore. but it makes a triple beep, then a lower toned beep a second later. Its fully charged and i've unplugged everything and reconnected everything, but the light never goes green and i continue to get the same beeps over and over. Everytime I press the on button on the earpiece, it does the triple beep. Is there anything i can do to get it working again? Thanks, and I appreciate you're speedy reply.

Remote ring detection provides a low tone * triple beep in your wireless headset when you receive an incoming call. This feature requires a handset lifter accessory, such as the Plantronics HL1 or HL10. If you do have a handset lifter but do not hear the remote ring detection, please check the following:

  • Check the placement of the lifter. - Make sure the handset lifter positioned directly over the phone's speaker.

  • Try adjusting the phone's ringer volume. If the phone's ringer is too quiet, it may not trigger the ring detection built into the lifter. Try turning up the ringer volume of your phone.

  • Check the ring tone of the phone. - If your phone's ring tone provides short beeps or plays music, the lifter's microphone may not detect it. Try switching your ring tone to a traditional ring or long beep.

  • Does the phone have different rings? - For example internal calls vs external calls vs transferred calls. Does the phone ring the same for each type of these calls. If so try changing so all calls use the same tone.

  • Attach the optional "external ring detector" cable. This cable plugs into the lifter and provides a small, black microphone. It is included in the plastic bag of lifter accessories. Mount the microphone near your telephone's speaker. Click here for more details.

  • There are 2 versions of the Lifter accessory - HL10 and HL1. The HL1 is a larger older version of the liter with a more sensitive rind detector. Some phones will require the older version of the lifter.

  • Please view the On Line Compatibility Guide to see if the older version (HL1) will be required for your phone.

*Please note the volume of notification beep in the headset cannot be altered, it will always be a low tone triple beep .

Hi, we use the plantronics cs60 headset at my place of work and the earpiece stopped working so i have changed it for another one and i have paired them together but now when i pick the ear piece up the...

It would depend on what headset you actually purchased. You say CS60 but it may be the Plantronics CS50 or CS55 headset. The headsets are not interchangeable. If you are not sure what headset you have, simply look on the bottom of the base for the part number. On the headset you can read what part number that is by very carefully looking under the battery. Here is a link to open the battery.

Here is a link to the CS60 instructions to replace the battery.

I think that if the base and the headset are the same it might be that you may need to subscribe or pair it together again.

Here is a link to the CS60 subscription and pairing instructions.

My plantronics CS50 USB headset won't subscribe to the base, it just keeps giving 3 short beeps when the call button is pressed. Numerous attempts at resubscription and resetting have not had any...

I know this is an old post but I just want to share what I confirmed through Plantations. Hopefully it will help someone in the same situation. Sometimes, people buy replacements headsets and it should be noted the CS55 Headset does not pair with the CS50 base. While they headset looks identical, the only way to tell which headset you have is to open the battery cover and look under the battery. If you have a CS55 headset and a CS50 base, they will not pair.

Handsfree not working

Make sure that the phone cord that comes out of the back of the CS50 base plugs into the Handset port of the avaya telephone, not the headset port.  Then make sure the coily cord that comes out of the telephone handset is plugged into the front of the CS50 base.
It takes 1.5 hours to charge to 80% capacity, and 3 hours for a full charge.  You will know it's charged fully because the yellow blinking light on the front of the base will now be solid.

All of a sudden my CS 55 with plantronics stopped working. It shows that its on but the headpiece isnt charing and also doesnt work. Any ideas why?

If the Plantronics CS55 wireless headset shows that it is on, you have to make sure of the following things.

a. the green LED on the base turns on when you turn the call switch on from the headset.
b. the small green LED on the side of the headset is blinking.
c. the telephone headset is lifted from the cradle.
d. if the headset is not charging and the Amber light on the base does not blink when you place wireless headset on it; trying placing the headset more firmly.
e. If the headset is not charging and the Amber light on the base does not blink even after placing the wireless headset firmly on the charging cradle, you may need to change the battery.

Alternately you can try resetting the Plantronics CS55 wireless headset.

Reset Plantronics CS50, CS60 or CS55 Wireless Headset

If you have problems with the sound or connection of your Plantronics CS50, CS60 or CS55 wireless phone headset, you may want to try to hard reset it using the following steps:

Note: Ensure the IntelliStand switch (on the right side of the charging base) is in the - position and NOT the = position.

1. Press both the call control button and the listening volume/mute button for 5 seconds. When the indicator light blinks release both buttons.

2. Press the call control button again. The talk indicator light will again blink to indicate the headset is back to normal.

3. Disconnect the AC charger from the AC charging jack for 5 seconds.

4. Reconnect the AC charger.

Now give the Plantronics headset a try.

No Program folder for Plantronics application / driver.

The CS50-USB from Plantronics extends wireless freedom to your softphone. It’s the first wireless headset for VoIP applications with remote call detection and answer/end capability via PerSonoCall software (built-in).

Enjoy yourself without bothering about software!

No speaking ability

The mute button on these is the little black button on top of the earpiece. It will only be on if you turn it on during a call. If you turn the headset off, the mute button goes off as well.
Check the compaibility 'wheel' on the side of the base station. The most common setting is 1 but some phones use 2,3 & 4. Just try it on each setting until it works. Other than that, check the microphone volume adjust setting underneath the base (ABCD switch) and see if changing that makes a difference. Of course there is always a small chance that the microphone is dead.

Headset CS50

It sounds like you need to re-register the earpiece to the base. To do this, use the following steps:
1. Return the headset to the
Headset Docking Cradle

2. Press and hold both the
Speak Volume Adjust Buttons (+/-)
on the back of base unit for a
minimum of 5 seconds. The
Red Power Indicator will then
flash

3. Press and hold the Headset
Mute Switch (black button on top
of earpiece) for a minimum
of 5 seconds. The On-line
indicator (green light on boom)
will then illuminate.

4. Subscription completion is
indicated when the Power
Indicator is fully illuminated
and the On-line Indicator is
extinguished.

5. If subscription fails within 2
minutes the headset will return
to the un-subscribed state.
