Uh Oh! Unless this is something simple like a loose piece inside the projection chamber shadowing the screen it would have to be the light engine ($$$) warping due to overheating of its plastic housing. Check inside the cabinet for loose objects in front of the lens, then clean all the fan filters, then call your warranty company.

There is a shadow in the upper left corner of the screen

someone is going to have to look inside by either removing the rear upper part of the set or removing the entire front screen---neither is easy to do. But considering your trouble I would not be surprised if the mirror is cracked---the entire front screens would have to be removed to replace the mirror--special mirror and special handling--I have seen several break when someone is not careful putting in.

Whites and Light Blues Very Pixely

If it's happening on all of your settings, It's probably going to be a problem with the DLP light engine. That TV came out in 2005, right? Did you buy it brand new, or as a floor model etc.? In any case, it's more than likely out of warranty and going to be a pain in the wallet. Best Advice I can give you with this info is hold out for some price cuts this holiday season. Sorry I couldn't be of help.

Vertical line down the center of screen

A WD62827 is a V30+ chassis and is a DLP format projection screen Tv, not a flat screen, am I missing something?? For the symptoms you're describing with a WD62827 remove and reseat the DVI cable between the chassis and optical engine. If removing and reseating the DVI cable does not resolve the issue you may need to replace the Optical Engine part # 938P019020
BTW the current software version for this unit is 7.04.1F if you have anything less you might think about updating the software also..
Hope this helps!
