At your PC menu, left click Setting, Control Panel, and Add Hardware Wizard and get it open to find out if your DVD writer is installed and working properly. Otherwise, follow the instruction to get it installed. Thereafter, reinstall the software driver for the DVD writer. Otherwise, get your software driver download at the Internet, and install it in your PC. Just type at the Search engine blank( Download for software
driver Brand and Model of your DVDR,) and choose
the software driver applicable. Then, go back to your
PC menu, click open your download and have it
installed.

Hi,My dvd writer can no-longer read/burn cds and dvds.It usually fails at around 17% and ejects! costs me alot of cds that are wasted..PLIZ HELP.THANK YOU..

Open the draw and give it a blast with compressed air from an aerosol can or play a CD lens cleaning disk, if that doesn't work, don't try too hard, get a second hand replacement from ebay or any second hand shop you have near you.

My PC detected my LG DVD reader/writer rom but the rom is not reading maybe you can help me troubleshoot this problem thanks

Make sure the software for this DVD drive is installed into the PC and then your drive is connected to be detected and installed, This will also remove off all previous drives that might cause errors.

HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-H55N cannot detect dvd disc

I have same DVD writer and I am facing the same problem. During R&D for such failure on google I came to know there are two different Laser Diodes for CD and DVD. CD read write is working for me. I think DVD r-w laser has some problems. I am currently looking for options to get the new laser diode. As soon I replace the diode and see my DVD writer working. I will upload the video to replace the diode for you all.

My LG DVD writer GSA-H55N not detecting CDs and some DVDs

Some DVD/CD drivers have two lasers: one for DVD and the other for CD. Not sure if this is your case but looks like the laser for CD discs is gone. The only way to repair it to replace the pickup mechanism. Anyway, it's hard to diagnose your issue as it may be caused by drivers, dust, software that interferes with the CD/DVD drivers, etc.

Dvd burner not detected

Sorry, but that model is not a DVD writer. It can only write and rewrite CD's. It can only read DVD's.

Here is a page with specs:

Sony CRX310S Specs

Note under DVD>Write DVD it says N/A. (Not applicable.)

My dvd writer DRU-190A takes 50-60 minutes for each dvd writing.

Just right click on my computer, go to properties> hardware> device manager> IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers. there u will find several primary and secondary IDE Channels. Right click on first IDE channel and goto properties> Advanced settings, change transfer mode to "DMA if Available". Repeat it with all the channels. If problem still persists then uninstall the channel containing ur DVD Writer and restart your computer. It will detect new hardware as DVD Writer. Now if it is showing the transfer mode "DMA if Available" by default then your problem is solved.

Super multi dvd writer gsa-h55n

Well, since I received a solution from MAXTRIXKHAN, I just wanted to check back with NCIX.com, and here is a recap of what I did, and what they told me...

After a few tries, I had to contact LG Customer service.
I tried to burn to...

-Maxell CD-R, no problems,
-TDK DVD-RW, no problems,
-Verbatim DVD+R, Computer hangs.

Well, I bought this DVD-Writer to replace my old GSA-4167B, and LG customer service told me that this DVD-Writer does not support the Verbatim DVDs.

So, if you have plenty of Verbatim DVDs, you should forget about this writer.

Supported DVDs...
Maxell, Sony, TDK

Will have to send it back to NCIX

So beware
