You also forget how to spell "forget" and "get". You sounded pretty desperate there for a "Second", or was that a "sacond", though in your posting. help me plzzzzzzz - so I've dropped everything I was doing to come to your rescue. Or is that Rasque.

I Git some information about that model of router on the Internet here:

http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/mr814.asp

Seems like it is a wireless thingy. So what WAY are you trying to Git your sacond peecee connected to it? Would that be Wirelessly? or Wired?

Wirelessly you just have to see your network and not "For Git" what your wireless security key is.

Wired you should just have to plug a Cat5 Network Cable from Your PeeCee to one of the Them 4 ports that are together (not the Internet or Wan Port) on the router. Your PeeCee should obtain IP Settings automatically ... and should have network and Internet Access like your First PC.

MR814 Netgear internet is slow

Have you tried unplugging your router from the power outlet for 2 minutes then plugging it back again? Also, it is advisable to turn off routers every once in a while to let it rest. If problems still persist, you should try contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for additional support.

I am trying to connect my Netgear MR814 to my computer which uses Vista. Can the MR814 be used with Vista, and how do I connect?

The router including the Wi-Fi is system agnostic, so yes of course you can connect your Vista machine, or your Mac, or your Solaris, or your Linux or anything else. Just so long as your system supports the Wi-Fi card which is installed in it.
The great thing is that both the ethernet and the Wi-Fi are simply standard any system uses these systems.

I need the software for the mr814

The driver is available here http://kb.netgear.com/app/products/model/a_id/2502 but if it's not the version (version1), click on the Download menu button and enter your model no (MR814) in the search box and select the particular version... http://kb.netgear.com/app/

Netgear MR814 and windows 7 issues

There shouldn't be any issues with the router as a result of Windows 7. The Router does not interact with the computer in such a way as to cause incompatibility like with hardware or software.
That said, what could be causing issues may be out of date WiFi card drivers. Windows 7 has an incredible driver database and I have only come across a handful of things it doesn't detect. But sometimes even with the things it does pick up, a better driver is available.

You should run Windows Update by going to Start (2252758.gif), All Programs, and then Windows Update. If not already set up, you should click change settings on the left and make sure all recommended updates are received like important updates. This way you will get all updates available, including hardware updates.

If this does not seem to improve the situation I will be posting a How To on properly configuring your Netgear router. This will ensure your settings are set to their most optimal settings.

Good Luck,

Connecting XP wireles Client to Netgear MR814 v2

Please see if this things are done:
  1. Power on your wireless device - now a days, laptop have a manual switch aside from software-base application. It usaully a tiny switch witch is mostly located at the edge of your laptop.
  2. You might have entered an invalid key - use notepad to enter your security keys then cut and paste it on your application setup.
  3. Reinstallation of your device driver.
  4. Your router networking is not broadcast so do it manually by supplying SSID and security keys on the setup menu.
If this thing are done correctly, better see your supplier.

If you think this things are helpful, please rate me.

What is the channel on the router setup on a netgear MR814

Hi matty,
Are you asking what radio frequency the Netgear MR814 operates in?
That would be the 802.11b standard 2.4GHz.  It is the same as some cordless phones which operate in 2.4GHz so beware interference.  You may want to opt for a 5GHz 802.11g router or a cordless phone that operates in the 5GHz range.

1 of the 2 computers cant get online

Pleaase check if the PC connects when plugged directly to the DSL or cable connection whatever you have without the router in between. That would ensure the functionality of the ethernet card on the other pc.
