This indicates problems with the image engine. (Lamp does not control the colour). If the TV has not been cleaned recently, excessive dust build up internally may have overheated the image engine. If Sony will not cover it, you might want to consider a new TV.

I have a KDF-55E2000 Sony Grand VVEGA Color Discoloration

Bad news: The issue can only be solved by replacing the optical block for the TV. This was a defect in the design of this TV. Replacing this part is very expensive (over $1000) and time consuming (need to take whole TV apart).

Good news: Sony extended the warranty for the optical block for this model. They are covering the cost of parts and labor for this TV. Contact Sony to have them refer you to a authorized service center near you.

Yellow and pink line accross top of screen.

We have aKDF-E42A10 for a bout 2 yearsnow and we now have 13 horizonal lines across the screen, they look like small square dotted lines across the entire screen from top to bottom. It be gan acouple of months ago as 2 of these lines that seemed to move up the screen. I called technical support and he made it sound like he never heard of the problem. I am very upset with sony right now. Anybody know how to fix the problem?ricedog

The shadow is most likely red in color? This is a very common issue and requires the light engine or also called the optics block replaced. The good news for you is Sony has extended the warranty for this replacement until June 2010. I have included the link for this instance and would advise you to move quickly and take advantage of the repair. Now if ANYTHING like your lamp need to be replaced that is on you as Sony is only covering the optics block, but hey its the most expensive part to replace anyway.
