open the back door try to remove the belt and then try to rotate the drum by hand if it stuck again you need to check if there is something between the drum and the chamber
I doubt it will solve the problem, as the part you are referring to is a selector switch and not the timer, the problem is more likely to be a faulty control unit.
I have been looking at your machine on internet and found out that the indesit model you have is not the washer dryer version it is a washing machine so has no dryer function. hope this helped.
In the menu on the left click on Indesit user manuals, then enter the model number in the search box, and down load the instructions to your printer or hard drive.

It would be adviseable to rempve the top, and also tilt the washer to the rear, as it makes it easier to change the seal, and gives you more room to get your hands in.

the fitting of the seal depends on the age and wether the tank assembly has been changed as there were two different fixings one was a spring fitting and the older version was a clamp which requires a tool to fit. the mold is rotting washing powder which can be reduced by putting a cleaner through once a month.
Push panel right or left side. Unscrew or turn anti-clock wise, according to your model. Be prepared for some water. Pull this out and clean, refit carefully. Of course it is meant to be removed and cleaned periodically, according to usage.
