To finalize a DVD, you can also follow the steps below:
Step 1: Open File Explorer.
Step 2: Click the DVD drive.
Step 3: Click Close session on the toolbar. Now the session will be closed, so the disc can be used in other computers.

If you have DVD or CD burning software that allows finalizing, the process is simple. Once you have finished burning, a "Finalize" or "Done" or "Close disc" button will appear. Clicking this button will ensure the finalization of your discs. This process can be applied on most programs that require manual finalization. There are some other DVD burning programs that can finalize the DVD automatically, use those programs will make the process even easier.

Most DVD player can't read open session discs, meaning when you burn your DVD movie there's an option there that when your disc is not full you can still add files on it, it's open session, in your case if you want to play it on dvd player you must select the finalize the disc to close the session and you can play it in any dvd player you want.

Discs will not play back on dvd

What DVD's are you using +R/RW -R/RW some formats may not work especially on non-branded media some DVD players wont even play CD-R but will play some CD-RW of the correct brand.

I suggest that you try your finalized DVD in your PC then create an image using ImageBurn then burn the image onto a branded media and try again. Most firmware on DVD burners are very forgiving and will support a wider range of manufacturers and formats.

Hope this helps, you might want to look on your DVD players website for updated firmware you will need a blank CD and create a update disc using your computer.

Hi i am using vista, and am using dvd shrink 3.2 version to burn dvd discs i open my disc in dvd shrink then back up in dvd shrink to file created in documents, then dvd drive ejects disk and asks for...

you must remove the region lock off the DVD image you're trying to burn make it region free. your DVD player might have locks on which DVD regions you can play, your DVD writer doesn't come with a region lock that's why you're able to play the disc

Burned dvd doesn't work in other dvd players

Make sure that you finalize the disc when recording is finished, also some DVD players prefer DVD +R

IView 6000kr DVD Player can't play RMVB file from DVD disc

The problem may be that you used a data disc mode. That leads to discs that can be read by other computers not by most DVD players. Did you finalize the disc before removing it from the computer? Try finalizing the disc. From Windows File Explorer, select the DVD drive and choose the Manage tab. Then see if Finish Burning is available.

In the future, make sure that you choose the With a CD/DVD Player option instead of the Like a USB drive. Then finalize the disc before ejecting it. See http://www.online-tech-tips.com/computer-tips/how-to-burn-cds-dvds-blu-ray-discs-windows/ for some tips.

I hope this helps.

Movies not playing on dvd

Use NERO or ANYDVD software to burn them as a "DVD" and not just a copy paste as that will not work for dvd players.
Also if you can find a "region free hack" for your regular dvd player use it. most are quite simple to do and it means it wont reject a dvd that is meant for another country .

Windows media player doesnt play dvd movies

Simply install a DVD player separately or DVD Codec for Window's Media Player. The reason why Window's Media Player can not play the DVD movies is that it does not has a DVD codec to play it. The simplest solution to do it is to install a DVD Player program and Window's Media Player will start playing DVD movies.
