My card reader doesnt support my nextel sim what should i do

i have a motorola ic902 phone from sprint/nextel and i woul like to used it with my boost sim card but it doesnt read the boost sim card

you either have to do a factory reset on the phone or the previous owner of the phone (assuming there was one) has to release the phone or request a bill by calling nextel

On that page click on SIM card Portability under Phone Feature...

If you are unable to remove the SIM card... then try to use a Tweezers.

Sound as though maybe you're trying to use a "boost" sim card on a Nextel phone. The phone has to be unlocked in order for that to work.

no. A Nextel phone is CDMA (code division multiple access) and an AT&T phone is GSM.

The Nextel has no sim card.

I am assuming you are trying to use a sim card from a GSM network. This won't work because Nextel uses the iDen network. You will either have to get a sim card from Nextel, or get a different blackberry from a GSM cell provider.

I called Boost support about the same issue and I was told that that particular phone and any other Ic series phone by motorola will not work with Boost Mobile. There was also a few other phones that will not work. Try calling thier support line and requesting the list of phones that won't work. Good luck.

When you are using a Nextel sim card in a Boost phone, The Boost phone recognizes that it is not the alotted sim and will automatically lock up. This doesn't happen in all cases but it does happen often. There is no way to fix this issue besides replacing the phone, which you can do through warranty if you can not return it to the store.
