Hi, Betty. Hampton Bay Ceiling fans are a house brand for Home Depot. They do sell replacement hand-held remotes, that can be programmed to match your fan. But, before you rush off to buy a new one, change the batteries in the remote first. There's a batteries in the handl held remote and some in the receiver, inside the fans cowling. Low batteries can cause what is happening with your fan.
