The switch in the door could be bad. the water side of the water valve could be bad. Sometimes especially in GE SXS refrigerators the water tube freezes in the door. You will have to see if you are getting water to the door by disconnecting the couple under the freezer side and tap the water dispenser if you get water there then the tube is frozen and you will have to thaw out the door for a couple hours. A slight possibility is the water reservoir in the fresh food section behind the crisper could be frozen. Again you will have to thaw it out.
It is behind the ice bucket, remove ice bucket and you will see it there, however, it is a continuous run type motor so the best way
to defrost it is to run it by depressing the ice dispenser lever until you free it up after removing the ice bucket, it may take up to 5 minutes to thaw it out
This could be a frozen water line that feeds the ice maker. Turn the temperature down on both the freezer and the refridgerator and wait at least 48 hours for the temps to adjust and thaw the line. If you are in a hurry you could turn off the unit and remove all food and then use a hair dryer on the water line to thaw it out. Good luck!
You
have two points where you can check the dispenser water. At the rear where the
water supply comes in is the water inlet valve. If you disconnect the dispenser
water line and then see if the water comes out when you try the dispenser. You
should hear the valve work when you try the dispenser. If you don’t hear it
there is a dispenser actuator switch problem. If you do hear it but water
doesn’t work here there is a valve or water supply problem. If it's normal, disconnect it at the bottom of
the freezer door and try again. If it's normal here it may be frozen in the
door. If this is the case open the door till it thaws. A blanket over the
opening will prevent thawing of all the food.
Most likely reason water not dispensing out door
1) You can turn up the temp in the freezer to see if it thaws in a couple of days,
2) Turn on the dispenser light and leave it on, will thaw the line and keep it thawed,
3) the water tank is frozen in the fresh food side (you can defrost with a blow drier)
6) the fill valve went bad or plugged ( power to fill valve but not opening) ($50)
7) Micro switch went bad in the dispenser for the water side
8) Door switch bad
9) Install a heater kit to thaw the line and it will keep it thawed ($35) PN#1381601
10) You can replace the whole door if insulation gone bad in door ( $500 to $800)
11) a broken wire to the fill valve ( no power to fill valve )
12) with GE refrigerator bad dispenser boards or control boards ($400 and $150)
13) plugged, faulty or incorrectly installed water filter

. If you don't hear the water inlet valve on the back of fridge, the dispenser
switch is bad. You
