Check the bake ignitor (glow bar attached to the burner). If it does not glow at all, but the voltage is supplied to it - replace. If it does glow, but draws current less than 3A - replace.

SOURCE: GE Profile Stove baking option not working

Possibly the bake igniter, the temperature sensor or the electronic oven clock/control. Does broil mode heat properly or does it run cool also? If broil heats to the proper temperature then the temperature sensor is probably ok. That leaves the ignitor or the controller which takes some more troubleshooting. If it is the controller, we repair them at www.fixyourboard.com.

Why will my broiler work but my bake will not?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the broil element is heating in your Frigidaire oven, but the bottom bake element will not heat. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. When you restore power you will need to set the clock. Preheat your oven using the bake option. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your oven status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Dacro Wall oven (electric) does not heat past 345 degrees on bake or convection bake but broiler works and bottom oven works fine (for bake, convection bake and broil).

it could be the oven temp sensor rod located near the top of the inside of the oven,or possibly the bake element has a hot spot on the element and can no longer pass enough current thru this spot to correctly heat to your settings a hot spot on the element will look discolored in this area

I have a kenmore electric stove/oven model 911.9354591. The oven does not work. When in oven mode the broiler comes on. When in broiler mode, the broiler comes on. I have replace the EOC and checked for...

You probably know this, but on an oven unit there has to be two different phases of 120 to make it work. Check the wires that attach to the oven unit to make sure that you have 240 when in oven mode. If you have only 120, find out which wire is not hot and trace it to its source. Is it miswired at the other end? Is it shorted to one of the broiler wires? Usually there is a schematic to show how the oven is wired. Check for anything that is common to both oven and broiler wires and make sure the wires are on the right terminals. With out seeing the sove it is hard to know what it going on. Hope that helps. Robin

Does the bottom ignito glow when the "bake" option is selected? If not, replace the ignitor. Even if it glows, it may not be achieving the electrical resistance value needed by the safety valve to open thus allowing the gas to flow to the burner.
