LG 42lc2d found u502 in power supply blown up.

LG 42lc2d found u502 in power supply bad. The whole front blew off of the chip and i cannot seem to find the part number in the service manual. I am tossed on replacing the power supply board or if there might be something else wrong that will blow up the new power supply. A satellite guy came out and put in a new box. I am pretty sure he was messing with the hdmi cable with the tv on but about an hour later the tv just went dead.

You won't find a part number for this ic. These boards were made to be replaced as one piece. A new board should do the trick. If you can try to check for a short to ground. Most of the plugs on the board have voltages labeled. If there is a dead short you will see it with an ohm meter.

Lecy blew tv wouldn't come back on change fuse in plug still no light on tv does 42" lg hd tv have a fuse internal.

Yes, TV's have an internal fuse on the power supply. All too often though more damage is caused besides a blown fuse or the fuse doesn't serve the purpose and the power supply is damaged. You can check and replace the fuse as necessary. If you need a replacement power supply, here is a list of vendors below. Have your TV model ready to help you find the part you need.

My lg 42lh20 has power but will not turn on

hello, there could be numerous reasons for this, mainly a power supply that has a fualty part or over heated circut, basically something went bad, these circuts are very delicate and they operate at very high temps this cuases circut fualts. just one bad resistor or blown capacitor may cuase this, it seems you may want to start at the power supply, the way i go about repairing these sets is by aquiring a service manual for the particular set then checking that the voltages are proper at the output terminals and check points.
the service manual for your set may be downlaodable, if your not electronically inclined you may want a service tech to check. it if your able to perform these types of checks use a service manual.

Picture is out on LG LCD TV

The problem can be blown up components in the back lights inverter board or in the 24VDC power supply section. You need to open up the back look to see if you can locate blown components. There should be 24vdc on one of the power supply output connectors pins.

I turn power on and green light on front comes on and then goes off and no picture

Do you get sound? I f you do, then it can either the backlight iverter board (blown surface mounted fuses) is bad or the powrsupply that supply the power to the inverter board is bad.

Infocus projector power supply dead

the caps dry out. look for bulging caps. you won't find a schematic for the ps boards. infocus had someone else make them. the problem seems more like a overheating issue. as for the other one with the "just the fans", check the colorwheel.

There are internal fuses - or it could be a failed PSU
