Infocus projector power supply dead

I have several Infocus projectors (X1,X2, X3 models) that have blown the power supply. A couple projectors blew the power supply when my home had some furnace smoke issues.

I found two bad 2SK3568 FETs bad on one X3 power supply that had also blown the soldered in fuse. I bought a replacement X3 projector that apparently blew a different portion of the power supply (only the fan runs; no lights or any other function). Does anyone have power supply schematics or have any repair history/advise for what usually goes wrong with these units?

The caps dry out. look for bulging caps. you won't find a schematic for the ps boards. infocus had someone else make them. the problem seems more like a overheating issue. as for the other one with the "just the fans", check the colorwheel.

I believe you can contact infocus for them. They have been generous with these in the past, good luck

Lamp burned out on X1 infocus projector, Replaced lamp, new lamp stopped working in about 5 hours, got another new lamp and it does not light at all. Still blinking 3 red blinks(saying the bulb is bad)

make sure the colorwheel is spinning. if it is not, replace it. also, blow the dust out of it with canned air. excessive dust kills lamps quickly. you'll also need to reset the lamp timer. are you using an sp-lamp-009? the sp-lamp-018 looks exactly like it, but is used in th x1a and x2. the x1 only uses the sp-lamp-009. if all else fails, replace the power supply.

it's the fan. if it won't spin full power, it can't cool down the projector and it'll shut down. there are 2: 60mm (part # 526-0153-00) and 80mm (526-0152-00). both can be purchased from infocus or an infocus service center.

Infocus X1a no picture, solid green LED

if the lamp is new, it could be the power supply (the ballast is built in to the ps). but make sure you have the right lamp. the X1 and X1a have an sp-lamp-019 and the similar X2 and X3 have an sp-lamp-018. the lamps are almost identical except for the wire configuration on the lamp plug. make sure the wires in the plug match the positions in the socket. also, when you turn it on, if you don't hear a high pitch squeal, the colorwheel is not working. and if that isn't working, the lamp won't either. also check to see if the lamp door is closing properly and hitting the switch at the top of the opening.

Infocus projector power supply parts

you won't find schematics for them. infocus had their boards made by someone else who now no longer makes boards. it's usually the caps drying out that causes power problems.

Ballast

you have to go to an infocus authorized service center. you may be able to purchase it from them without having them put it in. check the infocus website for an asc. but for reference, the part # for the ballast/power supply is 520-0126-00 if there is a "0" in the 5th to last position in the serial #, and 520-0143-00 if it's an "a" in the 5th to last position.

PLEASE HELP!!

It also depends what part you need because although the 3 models look similar none of the parts are compatabile with each other except maybe some body parts and the X1 and X2 share the same light tunnel but it would be a risk to assume that the light tunnel from a used model is OK. The only 2 models that share the same parts are the X1 and SP4800. The X2 is brighter and the SP4805 has a 16:9 native ratio.

Infocus x2 dose nothing

Assuming the power outlet and cable is OK the most likely problem is the power supply and needs to be replaced.
