KCA-BT100 and KDC-W9537

Hi,
I can upload contacts from my phone, but the phone stors multiple numbers on a sincle contact (Home, Work,Mobile etc). The BT100 stors each number as a separate entry, but associates each one with the same contact - so its impossible to see which number you are dialing.

Is it possible to display the contact name AND number when looking at the phonebook entries? Default is just the contact name..... so I have 4 entries for "Joe Bloggs" but no way of knowing which number is which!

Thanks!

I was hoping not to have to reformat my mobile phone book and outlook contacts to cope with the inadequacies of a damn bluetooth kit but you're probably right with your suggestion.

I emailed Kenwood support, and they said that "I may be able to!" toggle between names and numbers with the "TI" key - I've not tried it yet, and it sounds like they havn't either :)

Same problem here. Save the contacts individually on the cell phone like this.
Smith/W, John 205-555-1212
Smith/H, John 205-555-1213
Smith/M, John 205-555-1214
They when you see John Smith/M on your screen, you know it is John's mobile number.

Transfering contacts from phone to KCB-BT100

yeah, this sucks, but a guy at Car Toys said that the Kenwood's are notoriously difficult when it come to the Bluetooth... through your phone, you have to disconnect from the BT100, but keep your Bluetooth "on", and then send each contact one by one. Talk about pain in the ___, but that works.

Now, my problem is that the address book comes and goes; sometimes it's available, sometimes not.

How can I configure my KCA-BT100 in order to make use of the bluetooth feature of my LG Sine U970 mobile phone?

Unfortunately, you must have a compatible phone. The LG Shine U970 is not on the list. Bluetooth is not as standard as we would all like. See the outdated compatiblity list at http://www.kenwood.com/bt/bt100/

Address Book - Manual entry

You have to first pair your phone with the head unit. After that is successful, unpair it on your phone, but keep the bluetooth on. Go to individual contacts, and select "send using bluetooth". If the contact transfer is successful, the phone number will appear in the Phone Book list on the head unit, the next time you pair it.
