Amana freezer is cold, fridge is not.

Our Amana fridge/freezer is not operating properly. The freezer section is running fine, but the fridge is at 60 degrees. There is no cold air being blown into the fridge section from the freezer. The condenser fan is operating, but we do not know how to check if the evaporator fan is operating.

You will be able to hear it when you open the freezer door and hold the door switch in.It is located behind the rear panel inside the freezer. The fan should be running when the compressor is running. If it is running make sure the damper(vent) to the fridge side is not blocked by ice and that the damper door is open.

most likely you have a bad damper,go here to see it

all that happens is the evaporator coil in the freezer gets cold, the evap fan blows the cold air to the fridge section and it goes through the damper, when it gets cold enough in the fridge section the thermostat on the damper closes the damper door, your damper broke in the closed position, this is as long as the door wasn't left open or anything like that,if it was the air ducts could have froze up but most likely it will be the damper.go here and it will show you where it is up near the light in the back and it's part number 18.hope this helps

Amana fridge is not cold

Its defrost problem, the freezer should cool, then freeze, then defrost cycle should start. In your case freezer is cooling, then freezing, but its not defrosting. That's why fridge section is not cooling.-------

My bottom freezer gets cold but the top part (fridge) does not. Why? I have an older first addition style

Its defrost problem. When the freezer section gets cold and reaches its required cooling temperature, after that the frost on freezer section starts defrosting and the cooling fan in the freezer section blows this cool air from freezer to fridge. But if the defrost cycle does not start then over ice will get collected on freezer ventilations and that will block the air passing section from freezer to fridge, so the freezer gets cool but fridge section does not cool.Try manual defrost by unplugging the refrigerator from main power outlet for 24 hours then reconnect it and check, if the same problem is noticed again,. If yes then its defrost board problem. The defrost board located in the back of fridge section. You can get required parts from www.repairclinic.com or from online sears part site. ------------- Thank you.

Your refrigerator probably has an issue with its "damper control assembly", which regulates cold air coming from the freezer compartment. Contact an appliance service company.

Refridgerator side not cold freezer side fine

Difficult to properly diagnois with such a brief description, but try the following as a good first step at correcting the problem. Reset the freezer and fridge thermostat settings at the factory default. Also, check the freezer section to make sure nothing is blocking the cold air supply vent into the fridge, do the same on the fridge side too.

Normally is the freezer is working fine, and the fridge is warm, it can be due to either a blockage of the cold air cross vent by items in either the freezer, fridge, or both, preventing proper cold air flow from the freezer into the fridge. Also, check to see if the cold air vent is not frozen or obstructed, with a fashlight (you;ll need to remove stuff from fridge and freezer to make this possible to check.

If the vent is not obstructed and you can clearly feel cold air passing from the freezer into the fridge, it is possible that the cold air vent control has ceased operating properly and needs to be replaced. Usually though this type of problem is caused by people over stuffing things into the freezer section and blocking the cold air cross over vent. Hope this helps.

Freezer won't go below 10 and fridge goes between 40 and 60 degrees

Ensure the condenser is not clogged with dust or other debris.
Ensure the condenser fan (usually found in back) is turning when the fridge is running.

Amana refrigerator only not working

Few questions first. 1.  What is the entire model # on the sticker inside the fridge section?  2.  Is the fan in the freezer running?  3.  Is there a thick frost build up on the back panel in the freezer (look at the bottom half for a side by side)?
