Is it like a buzzing sound? is so then it would be coming from your speakers. and would possibly mean a new sound board is in order. another possibility is that their is a hum from the power supply unit. but that's the power control board on the tv. this can also cause audible humming. if it sounds like a high voltage hum from a 60 hertz cycle then it is the power modal on the board failing more then likely.

yap! for CRT TVs with ring of colors, do the following to solve the problem; find a normal magnet from a retired speaker , just switch on the TV and while the TV is On, hold the magnet about 15CM from the screen while moving it arround the whole screen area. when it starts to degause/to be clear just move the magnet around the screen while moving further away from the TV screen let say 20CM, 25CM , 35 cm etc.

Replced convergense chips, 2 copper ring pull off board, installed tv powers up then shuts down. Can hear a klicking noise when powering up & one when it powers off. reading a 22 code?
the rings that lift are what allows the ICs pins to be soldered into the circuit if the rings have lifted or are missing the set will not operate. It sounds as if you have a Mitsubishi with the 22 error code. Fixing the rings that lifted and double checking the pins to be sure none are bridged together with solder.

Change the power supply board. What you are hearing is the switching power supply. They work at high frequency and sometimes produce lower ferquency harmonics that can be heard by people.

2 red rings after the xclamp fix
Yesh...4 red lights means you didn't have the component or hdmi pluged into the system and tv. 3 lights means there is some soldering problem in your 360. 2 lights means your 360 is overheated. For the 2 lights normally you can fix that with letting it cool for a while and give it some room around the system to run cooler. However by using the towel trick you you caused the soldering to run and now it's probibly miss soldered. I recommend you ship to Microsoft or sell it.

Xbox360 Powers on on video but audio, No red rings !
You have to do that Red Ring Fix. That will fix it. I see those come through the store a lot. The only problem with that is the red ring fix will only fix it temporarily. You might want to start saving up for a new one. Preferably a Falcon board.
