No volume We have a volume problem with an RCA 5-disc changer, model RS2640. The radio and CD plays but on extremely low volume. Both the built in and remote buttons do not affect the volume. The speaker leads were removed and re-installed. Appreciate any assistance. Merry Christmas! Alex

Won't play any disc on any of the 5 slots boom box also has casette player that records

Laser is either dirty, so a lense cleaning disc required. Or the cd transport is kaput. Uneconomical to repair if this is the case

CD player just says READ on it

Buy a CD cleaning kit, this will clean the plastic laser lens that is hard to get at, hopefully this will clean any dirt on the lens and bring it back to operational mode.

I don't know how to use it.

My son came over and helped me. All I was looking for was a user manual. This is something old and didn't need all this technical support. Plus I was not planning on paying for something that originally said it would be free.

I have a rca rs2640 stereo system. The display, cd player, tape player, radio, and headphone jack all work. But when a cd, tape, or radio is playing, the speakers do not make any sounds. I know it is...

It sounds like maybe you have speaker wires touching somewhere. If they are touching it will blow fuses, especially if you turn the volume up to try to hear anything. DO NOT put bigger fuses in to replace the old ones, you will actually do more damage to your system because a higher volt fuse will allow a higher voltage to "spike" in your stereo and might just start frying internal parts.

Every disc in tray ends with noise after a minute

Try a cd cleaning disc, the ones you can buy with the small cleaning brushes on them! It sounds like the laser is dirty.
