My roper top load machine will not unlock the lid clothes are trapped inside the washer.

This should be belt driven? I would imagine jut adjusting the tensionwould work.

Either not enough clothes or the lid switch is bad.

you need to replace the lid lock. the latch probably broke in 2, and the broken part is whats keeping the lid closed. if you have clothes inside you can open the top by using a putty knife to release the front clips holding the top of the machine down. push each clip in and lift up. you will also be able to access the lid lock this way.

he lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

the washer needs to have the lid closed to go into spin cycle the lid switch is broken just replace it and that will fix it

you eather have a bad timer or a bad lid switch let you lid down slow if you here a click you switch is good and you need A TIMER

do you hear a clicking noise when you close the lid if not check your lid switch
