if someone knows answer it will be answered other wise it may not

yes they do but not all if none of the volunteers know the answer then it would not receive one and when answered you receive an email

it would appear that the only expert here is you
You know the problem but cannot properly explain it
You know the answer but still ask the question anyway hoping that someone will give the answer word for word to confirm what you already know
Maybe the fact is , you have no idea of what you are asking, have no idea of the correct answer, cannot think out side the square to see and answer and will still disregard any answer and go on listening to your "mates " who generally will know less than you
and to set the record , you do not have to sign up to fixya site --it is free

i know this sounds basic. but try refreshing your browser. i suppose you could go back and repost your answer. you also might wanna check the comments area where you answered. i know i mistakenly posted in the comments area before.

Why did these guys that don't know the answer answer the question? Hey, jackasses, if you don't know the answer to this guy's question, don't bother answering. Your wrong answers are not helpful!

If someone answers your question, you will be notified in a few different ways.

1. Email Notification
   You will receive an email that will let you know you have a new answer and can view the answer provided in the email.
   
2. Site Notification
   When returning to Fixya you will see a notice at the top of the screen that will alert on whatever page you arrive to let you that a new answer is available.
   
3. Homepage Notice
   When you sign in you will also see a new listing under All Activity on the homepage.

Solved the problem this morning...I e-mailed Radio Shack and they sent a web page with all the manuals on it. I downloaded the manual for safe keeping. Answering machine is now working. But it is nice to know that your web page is available for everyone.

It depends really. The techs that answer questions here are doing it on a volunteer basis when we answer non premium questions. Really there is no way to say how long a question may take to get answered. Theres no guarantee it will be at all. I've seen questions get posted and answered within 5 minutes, it ranges by the time of day, who is on answering questions, or even how tough of a question you asked. If you really have an important issue that you really need answered then premium questions would greatly increase the likelyhood of you getting a response in a timely fashion. In addition to that, you may get numerous responses if you got the premium question route. Otherwise, I'd say ask your question and give it a day or two and check back.
