Old Technics CD tray refuses to open

My SC-CA 1060 (possibly 1080) Technics CD Stereo System's CD drawer refuses to open. The CD plays just fine, but on hitting the eject button, the draw visibly pushes forward, there's a small and very brief grinding noise, (presumably the mechanical gears giving up!) and then the tray relaxes back, having failed to come out of its housing. All suggestions welcome.

CD players have plastic gears. The gears can be stripped if someone has pushed the tray instead of using the open/close button. If you hear grinding noises, more than likely the player is shot. Sometimes pushing eject and tapping on the tray at the same time may pop it out. I don’t think a reset will work in your case but it’s worth a try.

I would like to get a neew remote control for my stereo system model number CD stereo system panasonic SA-PM9

The Panasonic SA-PM9 indicates the main unit of the SC-PM9 CD stereo system. It came with the EUR7711140 remote. Amazon.uk has the original remote for sale here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Original-remote-for-PANASONIC-SCPM9/dp/B01610BYJ8 . Other sites have replacements for this remote. One vendor with the replacement in stock (today) is http://www.remote-control-world.eu/rc-for-audio-hifi-panasonic-technics-c-12_96/panasonic-eur7711140-replacement-remote-control-p-3903 .

The manual for the SC-PM9 is available from Panasonic's support for the unit. The direct link to the manual is https://panasonic.ca/PCS/OperatingInstructions/SCPM9S-OI-Eng.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Technics SC-CA 1080 CD player jumps ,can I just buy any CD player separate and connect it to my technics? It's a separates 'style' system, not sure if its compatible with a different CD player

You have tried cleaning the lens? That might cure the jumps. Make certain your CD's are not scratched and clean too.

A separate CD player will work with your system, I think. It looks like the current CD player will connect via two phono plugs to the back of the system. Since the new CD player will have the same type, just remove the old connections and the power lead and plug the new CD player in the same phono sockets. As the new separate CD player will have it's own power supply it will not need the old one.
No further adjustments are needed. Any brand of CD player can be purchased.

How do i connect technics turntable model SL-QD33 to technics stereo model SC-DV290 and what do i need to switch to on stereo to play records.

Have a look on the back input panel of the sc-dv290. Check for a "PHONO" input. If there is no phono input it will not play turntable. If there is: then plug it the turntable in and switch the SC-DV290 to PHONO mode.
Another way would be to purchase a "phono preamplifier" from ebay: Hook the turntable into the phono preamplifier, and the preamplifer into the SC-DV290 AUX input.

CD drawer will not open or close

Had The Same With Mine. Its was the belt Inside that joins Motor To Cd Tray. Its Black and directly under the cd tray at the front. Its probably either loose like mine of maybe broken. I replaced mine with an elastic band and its been fine since.
