Display doesn't work on TEAC PD H300mkIII
I had the same issue today. I found that opening the unit you can see that there is a white ribbon cable connecting the head unit to the main board. removing this cable and re-inserting it the connector fixed the problem. The display now works again...hope this helps

This sounds like a loose solder joint or something else that is out of place, but clicks back in place when you move the player. Should be easy to spot. Might just need re-soldering. Have a look inside and see what you can see. Try turning it on the side. It doesn't need to be on, but watch carefully what moves!

I know this sounds a little brutal for what is after all is a delicate piece of hi-fi; I've just fixed mine by turning it upside down and giving it a good shake, knocking the underside a couple of times. The tray jumps out of its guide track, you're just shakin it back in.
Disc error
If the disc loads into it properly, the fault is with its laser pickup unit itself.
