Redux 1. vastly shortee now that a few tooth pulled facts were told.
16 year oLD PC
XP loaded, many times and virus infected all times an is ALWAYS EXPECTED as XP is and was a huge VIRUS MAGNET.. You can not escape this fact, and is never good this nor is there a future with this PC.
not withstanding kids allowed to play with dads PC while he sleeps and now BIOS LOCKED
learn to keep PC in dads cave and the door locked, win.
the CMOS battery is dead.
there is no battery ever lasted for 16 years, ever .
it is dead.
and CAN NOT BE IGNORED. (CAN NOT)
take it back to your tech and get it replaced , now.
or better yet find a newer PC
that can run or runs now w10. 64bit, not 32bit ever,
Choices vast but this fact here works best shopping for good used PCs.
this or better.
i3 , gen 4 , 2013 or newer PCs or I5 or i7 or Gen 4 up)
and win
and have a future. with w10 -64bit only.
if must be a laptop (why)?
then buy one LAPTOP that the coin cell can be removed in under 1 day labor (noob time)
and no collateral damaged flat cables or jacks. as most noobs do.
and win
ask.
my dell E6540 bottom comes off with 4 screws and coin is out in 5minutes work or less.
facts. matter, when shopping.
Great answer from Larry as usual
Panny LAPPY locked.
did you for get the PW, or bought it used and dead like this, if bought used , ask seller or PW.
or you never ever set this PW, and out of the blue , today it asks for a PW, these simple facts are important and not told by you (history) or if KIDS played with the LAPTOP and now is LOCKED, , yah that........
first off this thing is super old.
is this the USA version , name is THOUGH BOOK, in fact, yes/no.
T5's did it it have a 's there or S? why the apostrophe.?
they make vast models of CF-nn laptops, then, the full model number must be told not truncated to CFT5
so this is not windows PW locked it is on fact BIOS ADMIN PW LOCKED
right now I am reading your manual to you, google found in 1 second flat.
I guess F2 BIOS hot key is dead due to BIOS Admin locked
the manual tells me it is 2007 made and is 14 years old now.
and no RTC CMOS battery lever lasted 14 years. and when bad the BIOS will in fact lie to you,
that is why I asked up top if this PW deal is OUT OF THE BLUE
now the words in the manual. page 25 BIOS RESET.
The Setup Utility settings excluding the password(s) will return to the default values
page 26, supervisor PW set, (admin, BIOS)
it tells you this.
Supervisor Password or User Password: Contact your technical support office
that means ask them for the fix
any other fix is hacking and to hack any laptop , you can google all week or use YouTube
know that no 2 laptops hack the same way, maker nor model nor year.
facts. and if you hack it wrong you risk total bricking the PC, forever.
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/861586...
first YT hit.
https://youtu.be/eMc6Q06lz_g
and very tricky this.
hacking is an art, with not guarantees of any success.
call the maker as it told you to do in the book and ask for the cure directly
all that done reading your manual , asking at Panasonic and looking in YT from you.
easy no?
Anonymous Aug 18, 2021
the CMOS battery is bad, this is first, no PC run with one bad, ever. so is first and does not last this long
and this Rugged PC , omg the parts are so expensive, like x10 normal (yes scalpers sell it)
that is the trouble with rugged and rare PCs, not main stream.
a dell E6540 is better. (solid alum frame) and fully supported.

Is this the cmos battery??
Testimonial: "Thanks for your response Actually When my laptop is infected with a virus I take it to the laptop store. They say you have to give new windows. So after years of bringing home new with windows, I realized that the bios is locked. .."
Basically I don't know much about the laptop. My uncle gave me the laptop many years ago. I'm giving a picture of the laptop
I'm having an another trouble with my laptop....
Recently I was giving windows xp professional 32bit setup on my laptop but it failed because it was showing an error ::
setuporg.exe was not found
Can you help me with this??
(I think that the laptop's setup will help me to get rid of this issue. That's why I want to reset the bios setup because it is locked)
I downloaded the setup file from this website..
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=w...
nobody run XP on earth now, it is a virus magnet.
do not run XP ever.
and is not supported
and if you try to run new hardware (USB whatever) or new APPS they will fial
Stop using XP
Facebook Lite Aug 28, 2021
ALL THIESE POST BY YOU
NOT ONCE TOLD how it failed and when, oops there is one post here with some tiny information.
Bought it for $1 locked. garage sale.
my kids locked it. and forgot the PW. to BIOS
and this
OUT OF THE BLUE, lit self locked , I never touched it, and it did this bad ACT
nobody can guess your story, and is not told yet and matters.
if the COIN fails, , OUT OF THE BLUE can happen.
CMOS RTC COIN CELL BATTERy tiny.
and for the love of DEITY stop using XP ok,, it is a VIRUS MAGNET EXTREME.
"So after years of bringing home new with windows, I realized that the bios is locked. .."
does that mean OUT OF THE BLUE BIOS PASSWORD locked just happened.(no kids acting bad)
send it back to the shop and say , put in a new RTC CMOS coin cell now.
that is what to do.
this laptop old is 2005 to 2007
NO CMOS battery made ever lasted 16 year, 6 years is normal failure. 10 max if blessed by magic angles.
this is 1st things 1st, act on all PCs over 5 years old
we test the the battery first , but lacking a voltmeter tool, it is simply replace
yours is BAD for sure now, if that old.
Im sure that photo you sent is not YOUR PC apart, and is so wrong to show other PCs not yours
bad boy that.
you must be in S.Africa. the only country on earth using XP, now, (tiny)
so why are you using XP,? (my wild guess, is 16 year old PCs run nothing else)Panasonic is no help. sure.
nobody else does. on earth.
for very very good reasons.. we have a list of the horrors if you want to educate your self.
I guess your tech ,never learned in school that the CMOS batteries life span is 5-7years
as intel.com tells us clear as day? that it?
Your PC is 10 years over the line of deathh (CMOS batt)
amazing true , Panasonic even makes this coin battery. and here is there life curve.
see this cliff of deathh, when that happens BIOS GOES NUTS, crazy and acts in RANDOM odd and bad ways.
that is what IT DOES. at the point...
https://pcdied.com/battery%20pain/dishar...
1 cure
go to your tech (you told of) tell him CMOS battery is dead.
full stop cured.
those bogus XP are all infected, that is what they do how that 2014 , curtain fell. super super risky using that.
crazy risky.
OP
you said this but is NOT CLEAR AT ALL.
So after years of bringing home new with windows, I realized that the bios is locked. .."
for get years ago, only what matters is now. and tell what this means.
"I realized that the bios is locked. ."
tell WHEN that happened,
the 1st day after getting the repair PC back from the tech
or next year after.
as in OUT OF THE BLUE, PW is asked,
and nobody on earth touched the PC but you, and you alone, just YOU
I can break any PC I want in 1min flat that nobody can fix. (in vast ways too)
do you know that? do you see the point of that? (PC are easy to kill)
(i'd wreck your BIOS so bad the autorloader module in BIOS root, is wrecked, and no updates allowed)
that is my point, do you have kids, playing with this PC/? or worse EX wives, (2nd is a joke)
My guess is you never once considered that COIN cell batteries go dead even 5 years old.
or worse if PC is in box, parked on top of closet self , unused, ever for 3 years the COIN cell dies.(or less)
or less if the battery is already have used up.
or worse PC stored in 180f trunk of car most of the time in school or what ever, heat kills batteries faster./
as intel.com told you it would in your data sheet covering NVRAM (theirs)
PS:1:
you will never ever stop XP from being a virus magnet. ever.
load AVG on it and pray, but XP is going to fail and you know that after many trips to the shop.
XP = DOOM
and is far far worse today.
did you know XP SELF infects in 1 min flat fresh installed if internet is connected at install time.?
XP is the horror of the the EARTH.
get Rid of it before some one ROOTS you PC AND FINDS ALL YOU BANKING CREDENTIALS.
YAH think?
IE6 is even worse
do not use virus infected (as seen on the net) XP installers, if you do that your life on the net (WWW) is doomed. al that is infected.
if wise, get PC with W10-64 bit installed used or new, DO IT NOW, and be safe.
avoid those ISO, tell your shop not to load that ISO or the PC will be infected. 618MB ISO.
nor from any TORRENT sites, ever. those are infected. or worse, what is worse?, will root kits
or infections that send all login and emails and contacts to a 3rd party (them) and all PW stored in IE6 horrible browsers, there is no limits on worse, for sure. even using your PC as a remote bot for terroristt. etc.
the hard part is getting the ISO tested first, using many AV scanners, virustotal.com tries the hardest but is fast ,
not deep testing.
did you know even mighty MS released software then what was infected.? would that be fun to get? no./
OMG (oh my golly) gee wiz VT virustotal run on and ISO now. just tried, and runs. (before now VT had limits on size to small)
there is not best AV, all have weakness
the best AV is and OS that is really secure, Win 10-64bit only build 21H1
the VT test is very long, long running scans, I will wait for it. ISO posted above)'
that ISO is in GERMANY,
IP adress:
82.165.146.57
Country:
Germany
Region:
BW
City:
Karlsruhe
is not black listedhttps://www.urlvoid.com/scan/youwindowsw...
vt show this results, some good and others say files are too big
https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/3855...
this is not me saying use XP it it how to test it. first. only, and is highly risky using XP in any way.
My laptop's cmos battery
This sitehttps://www.youwindowsworld.com/en/downl...
Looks like a spammy site for malware and selling you a program that checks your drivers for a fee or 'Nag-Ware/Ad-Ware. Windows XP can only be purchased from Microsoft, nowhere else. It is is also out of date and unsupported and as Larry says, a virus magnet..
replacement here

seen this hard to get to battery i the C2, see yellow object there?

not easy the last one.
no YT, examples of yours sadly.
buy it used locked
was ok last week or yesterday and now locked.
forgot the PW???? or kids played with it ? oops.
we can not GUESS the story and history does matter, like found it in a dumpster like there..
some PCs with the CMOS battery goes dead think (wrongly) there is a BIOS PS set (admin) so replace the battery first.
I guess you have CF15 not CF15's right, why butcher the model number like that?
no full model told at all, example
CF-T5MWETZVM
see that?
Is this the cmos battery??
Yes for sure (THAT IS). but that motherboard, must be same as yours, (exactly)
many CF-nn look like that, but the actual panasonic cf-t5, motherboard is rare now and no photos
can I find it that board or battery.
IS THAT YOUR PC THERE ?? YOU NEVER SAID IT WAS OR WAS NOT (or off other CF models)
YES IT IS A CMOS BATTERY .
LAPTOPS USE 3 KINDS OF BATTERIES (not over 20 years old)!
1: like above, but is cr2032 inside. Cut off the plastic yellow and read the battery name and number.
2: a CR2032 coin cell with no wires at all. (sold at walrmart exit lane 15 even)
3: the ML1220, rechargeable that solders down type.
https://pcdied.com/raw/tosh-crap1.JPG
what we do is dismantle the PC,laptop , find the coin cell and if covered in plastic shrink like above
we remove the shrink insulation (exacto knife?) and get the real P/N off the actual battery.
and buy that.
how to find it, LT Can be a horor, here is my list
The coin is on top of mobo or under (motherboard = MoBo) Some take 30 screws to reach.
The worst PCs are laptops
HOW TO REACH MR. COIN. (for sure remove all bottom hatches first if present. and look)
Under the keyboard , keyboard out.
Under a lid on the bottom (aka hatches)
Under the lid/hatch cover, on the bottom for DDR ram, but ram pulled to reach it. .
Under or near the HDD bay lid off. and HDD removed?
Under the blue tooth hatch.
Under the Wifi lid hatch.
Now the 1st bad one, as seen on horrible HP G62 laptops, total dismantlement. (vast screws (35+?) and doing damage (huge for noobs) wrecking ribbon cable female plugs/jacks.) as you work in to the PC damage happens.
truly the only hard thing here is 2 fold
how to find the battery and replace it, (up to 35 screws deep on some)
how to reset BIOS (ask) (just some simple clicks in BIOS pages)
just do it or get your noob tech up so speed on CMOS battery. tell him it is bad. and replace it.
if you have that shown yellow battery in hand
we measure the 2 pins for near 3v if way low it is bad
then we skin the yellow heat shrink tube off the battery with a knife
and read the part number , the tell that here, and we then point to millions of sellers selling that battery.
we do that to learn what technology battery is is first,
only the correct battery works, guessing can be very bad, if lt leaks later.
I forget to say. BIOS PW locked, in order of easy and super common to worse.
1: coin cell CMOS dead. super easy if screws do not scare you.?
2: big battery now shorted overloading the main DC power rails making the BIOS lie to you, remove now and run on AC power pack even for ever.
3: the other owners (or kids) turned on BIOS PW or far far far worse enabled TPM PW level (no cure exists)
4: if lucky this old PC has the back door PW cure, google that find it and do that now.
5: kids flash the BIOS wrong, and bricked the PC forever.
6: the moBO IS bad. (last due to high cost and super hard to prove) strip down testing proves it , ask.
did you own this PC for years or buy it dead.?
did this PW deal begin OUT OF THE BLUE (like magic today and and never before ever?)
not told how the PW lock got there, we can not guess history,
1: YOU see set it and forgot it, or kids gone wrong.
2: bought it locked, (a vary bad idea to buy that)
3: or out of the blue (not us) the PW lock shows up for no reasons at all , answer = CMOS battery dead.
no history told, makes fixing it hard or even impossible.
