Treadmill slowing down in use and getting hot. Why ?

It sounds like you normal routine has made the motor hot and then when you slow down the residual heat is causing the motor to cut out. Check the vents in the motor for fluff or blockage.

Is the belt correctly tensioned. Do you feel that the belt is slipping. Does the motor noise change and slow down, or does the motor sound the same? If it slows, then the motor is failing, or you have exceeded it's weight capacity. If the motor remains at the same speed, then the belt is slipping with you as the resistance on it.

You have adjust the running belt of the treadmill. If you check the bellow added link you can find out how to adjust the running belt of treadmill. Almost all treadmill follow the same procedure. So if your brand mode is not listed you can follow the procedure of listed treadmill.

the motor could be overheating, you might contact the manufacturer and tell them about the hot smell

With the motor being new and the "hot electrical" smell, I would say the motor control board, which sends the speed command to the motor, would most likely be your issue.

Hi, It's probably the speed censor. Clean it up and should be good to go. When you disasemble it clean all other parts and put back togeather. Good luck
