Low Beam System Operation
The headlamps may be turned on two different ways. First, when the end of the of the turn signal/headlamp switch lever is turned to the second detent position, the headlamps will illuminate. A ground signal is provided to the DRL control module. The module then provides a ground path to the coils of the HLP relay. Since the head relay is provided with battery voltage to both the contacts and the coil, the coil becomes energized and closes the contacts providing voltage to the DIM relay. With voltage and ground provided, the low beam lamps light. Second, with the switch in the OFF position, for automatic lamp control (ALC). During ALC the headlamps will be in one of the following modes of operation:
• Daytime running lamp (DRL) operation in daylight conditions, refer to DRL below for the operation of the circuit.
• Low beam headlamp operation in low light conditions. When the ambient light sensor senses a low light condition for approximately 15 seconds, it will cancel DRL operation and turn on the headlamps at 100 percent intensity. A path to ground is provided to the coil of the HLP relay. With a direct path to ground provided to the headlamps though the DRL control module, the headlamps will light at 100 percent intensity.
High Beam System Operation
The high-beam headlamp operation is controlled using the turn signal/headlamp switch lever on the steering column. In order to change headlamp operation from low-beam to high-beam, push the switch lever toward the instrument panel (until the detent is felt) and release. With the switch lever in the high beam position, ground is provided to the DRL control module through the turn signal/headlamp switch and splice pack 200 to G200. The DRL control module provides a ground to the coil of the dimmer relay. Since voltage is being applied to the dimmer relay coil, it becomes energized. Voltage is then applied through the closed contacts of the dimmer relay and the to the high beam lamps in the headlamps. Since ground is provided to the headlamps through the closed contacts of the energized DIM relay, the high beam lamps light. The high-beam indicator (blue) in the instrument cluster will light during high-beam headlamp operation. In order to change headlamp operation back to low-beam operation, pull the turn signal switch lever toward the driver (until the detent is felt) and release.Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.

SOURCE: Radio Wiring Diagram

Go to www.crutchfield.com.

On the bottom of the page there is a link for product support. On the next page, type "2005 Grand Prix" in the search box and hit enter. The top link shows an image and pinout on models with Monsoon sound systems, the second link for ones without.

Hope that helps! Good luck!

2003 Pontiac Vibe no tail lights, brake lights and turn signals work just fine. The dimmer switch does not dim the dash lights but does work the dome just fineand the lights for the Heat/AC are off.

The tail lights work off the headlight switch, and there is a fuse for the tail lights. Make sure the fuse is good, first, a 15 amp (blue) fuse in the instrument panel fuse block. Then, you might have a bad headlight switch.
So you DO have dash lights, they just don't dim from the dimmer switch? In the wiring diagram, there is a green wire from a "tail light relay" (in the "Junction Block-Right Instrument Panel") that carries power to all the exterior lamps, as well as having a splice to the Instrument Panel Cluster (illum. bulbs), and to the lamp dimmer, and to the radio bulb.
To do any further testing, you would need a voltmeter or a test light, so you could chase down this power loss. Good luck.

2006 Pontiac vibe, left side headlights (both) and fog lamps did not come on...replaced the headlight bulb and everything worked normally

Perhaps, but your replacement of a headlight bulb would not have "fixed" the other light outages, unless there is a sensor that can tell it was out and therefore, shuts every other light off until it is fixed. A little more likely is the action of moving things to replace the light temporarily "fixed" a bad connection at or near the bulb socket. If it happens again, you will have a clue to the location. It may also be some effect on the headlight relays.

Head lamp harness

No - the worst electrical problem that the headlamp harness could cause is to short itself to ground somehow (bare wire, unplugged & turned on, etc), which would blow the headlight fuse.
However, dashboard problems can cause headlight problems, since the headlight switch is located in the dash.
The common point between the headlight problems, dashboard problems, and "electrical problems" would be the under-dash wiring and/or wiring harness from ECC (Engine Control Computer, aka "the car's computer) to the dashboard - check here first for grounding/shorting problems, or water leaking out of the in-dash vents onto a wiring harness.

I need the wiring diagram for a 2006 ford f150 xlt super crew headlight in order to wire oem fog light harness to headlight harness to get my fog lights to work.

This is the diagram for the fog lamps ( headlamp is a different cell ).
If you are trying to add them to the existing wiring, do not expect the headlamp switch to cab fuse panel wiring to be there ( that is usually what is missing when you can find the fog lamp connectors under the front of the truck ).

File Save as so you can magnify it with the JPEG viewer you use.
