I think once the retaining screw has been removed the only option open to you is carefully applied brute force - clamp the stuck blade in a strong vice and keeping the assembly straight and the blade under tension apply additional force by levering the saw backwards with a large screwdriver or tyre lever using the vice as a fulcrum.
If the blade isn't kept straight it could snap off.

How to replace plastic blades on a challenge mower

Dave, Remove plug wire, raise mower, or tilt on it's side to access blade. Remove center bolt holding blade on, noting the position so as not to install new blade upside down. Install new blade correctly and tighten blade bolt tight. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

How do I fix a lawnmower That is not cutting but starting

Hi Helen:
I have encountered a similar situation and the problem was that the blade had been installed with the wrong side facing up.
An easy way to check is to look at the discharge opening. Since the grass cuttings have to come out of the opening, the direction of the blade rotation is in the direction that the grass would come out.
With the engine OFF, look under the cutting deck.
The sharp edge of the blade has to be the leading edge as the blade approaches the discharge opening.
If the blade is upside down you will need to unscrew the center retaining bolt, remove the blade, remove the bolt and insert it from the other side, and re- install.
Hope this is the problem as it is an easy fix.
Safety first, Wear Gloves!
Cheers

Blade loose cannot get spindle off

Sounds like you should remove the deck, flip it upside down and use the blade to hold the spindle while you remove the bolt. if its still too hard to remove, spray it with wd40 or liquid wrench and wait a while and try it again.

Need a new blade for blade bracket item #33221 Harbor Breeze 52"

Someone commented "Otherwise the fan blades are on upside down." The blades are reversible, with different finishes on each side, there is no way to install the blades "upside down". Not sure what they were trying to say...

I have just bought this model second hand, and the blade is fitted upside doen for some reason. How do i change blades?

Hi marill469,

Here is a website where you can download the owner's manual for your saw: http://www.retrevo.com/d/ds/progress?doc=e045b5a9143e1e2ea028b778addd77ca&rk=0.7594880065395843

The instructions for blade insertion and removal are on page 7.

As far as I know, there is no upside down on a recip saw blade. You can use it either way. Upside down allows you to get the blade in tighter spaces due to the shape of the saw.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate your vote. Thanks,

It will not pick up mown grass, either wet or dry.

Check the blade! Your mowers blade is either worn out or installed upside down. The shape of a mower blade creates a vacuum or lift. The leading edge of the blade (sharp edge) should be parellel to the ground, while the trailing edge of the blade should rise up at about a 45 degree angle. This creates lift. As a blade wears, not only will the leading edge get dull, but sand and dirt cause the trailing edge to wear and reduces the vacuum effect. An upside down blade (easy to do) will just smash the grass and won't create any lift.
Good luck!

How do I install gator blades?

They attach just like the standard blades. A bolt goes through a washer, then the blade, then into the bottom of the mandrel. Helps to have a short block of 4x4 wood laying around to act as a stop to the blade movement while you unbolt the old and put in the new. If you have never done this it also helps to have the deck either off the mower or the whole thing on a good set of jack stands. And do not put them on upside down, the little vanes go UP in order to provide lift to the grass. If you have the deck off and upside down in the grass,t UP is then DOWN.

My Bosch 4000 blade will not go down any farther than an inch above the top of the table.I have checked and cleaned all the gear area and can see nothing that is causing it .

First of all, love the saw. As good as portables can be, the 4000 is really great.

Now, just remedied the blade height adjustment problem, here is how:

Unplug saw.

Removed blade....not easy when you cannot raise the blade, flip the saw upside down and remove the plastic shield, turn saw upright and remove blade.

Used my compressor with blower attachment and blasted all of the dust out of the gears and screw rods with saw upright and upside down, bevel saw to 45 degrees to gain more access..

Sprayed quite liberally with silicone spray lube and gently worked blade height adjustment, adding more lube, cranking wheel, more lube....blade adjustment now works like the day I bought the saw.

DO NOT USE WD40 or the like. This will just attract more dirt in a very short amount of time.

We'll see how the silicone spray holds up.

Good luck,
RjW
