Dvd player doesn't recognize dvd's of any kind

jusguessin should call Toshiba quickly. The units have a 1 year warranty. Do not open the unit or it will void your warranty (I know, I do Toshiba warranty repairs on their recorders. If anything will make be void a warranty, it's a consumer who opens the unit and pokes around inside).

mooch, clean the laser head. I wish I could refer you to a FAQ because this is about the 10th time today I have written this.

Open the unit. Remove the DVD drive. Take the top off of the DVD drive. Clean the lense with a q-tip with a little windex on it. Work the head up and down gently. Reassemble and test. If problem presists, go buy a new one.
