Unable to send and receive data via bluetooth

Hi

I have a Dell Latitude D630 laptop. I'm unable to use bluetooth device, the icon is showing next to the clock on my screen at the bottom right, but the light is not turning on from the hardware.

When I check on control panel it says the device is working properly.

Please help me to turn the light on from the hardware.

Your help/assistant will be highly appreciated.

You need to turn on bluetooth by using function keys. Press Fn button and button with sign of antenna simultaneously.

Hi,

Do you have the drivers and software installed for the bluetooth module - you need to make sure that you have the correct Dell package installed in order for it to be registered.

Have you also checked under the computer device manager - does the bluetooth device show there?

I would also check in the BIOS to ensure that the bluetooth module is showing there and is set to enabled.

I have dell d630. bluetooth is turned on from BIOS but not getting icon in my system tray. No idea what is the problem.

Step By Step:
1. rightclick My Computer, click Manage.
2. go to Device manager, and find your bluetooth radio. It will most likely have a <!> Icon because windows does not know what it is.

3. rightclick the bluetooth radio and do Properties, advanced.
4. Find your device's HWID (HardwareID), the shortest one listed.

Next we will tell windows to use a driver it already HAS, to run the radio.

5. open up c:\windows\inf\bth.inf in notepad.
You will notice a section of entries like:
Broadcom bth58685 = USB\1232134234

6. Create a new line with whatever name you'd like it to show up with, and your HWID from device manager.

7. save the file.

8. go back to device manager, rightclick the bluetooth radio and do 'update driver', 'find driver automatically'.

9. If you've done steps 5 - 7 right, it'll find the driver, install Microsoft Bluetooth Support, and you'll be up and running.

You can find a bluetooth trigger button in your laptop it will be symboled like this ))).((( or else with your laptop kit they will be providing you a pen drive (bluetooth dongle)shaped device using that you can transfer the datas. or else you can install a bluetooth dongle device with your laptop to transfer datas.
