I have problems with my ATI X1100, which is instaled in my Acer Aspire 5101. So teh problem is that, i have huge FPS problems. In games, the number of FPS is drasticly falling down. For example, in Far Cry when I start the game FPS are about 30-40, but after 2-5 minutes i abbout 1-7, for about 1-2 minutes and it is returning to normal, and after another 2-5 minutes the problem returns. This notebook is 1 year old, and the problem acuared 2 weeks ago, before that the FPS number was stable. It isn't the fault of resolution, or texture details, all games are on minimal, but erlier it eas posiible to play o medium... So what can I do? ** Note ** When the My Pictures or Pictures folder gets full, camera will not work - Cut and Paste all pictures in that folder to another folder and restart Orbicam program.
If that does not work then do this:
Start - Programs - look for Acer Empowering Technology then Acer E-Recovery - The look at the bottom and you will "Backup", "Burn disk" and Restore" choose Restore - choose Apps and Drivers at the bottom of Restore tab (it will say extracting) - once extracted - click Install - click Vista or (XP) on the left - click Drivers - click Camera or CCD - on the right side of the screen, click a phrase that has something like "Install now", follow on screen instructions.
There are 3 type of orbicam for Aspire 5100 model.
1. try to install the driver. make sure the orbicam is recognise in device manager.
2. download orbicam application from acerpanam.com. Try one by one. As i mention before there are 3 kind of orbicam.
If it still isnot working, try to reload the OS using disk or Alt+F10.

Windows redetects any new hardware , hopefully it should find the camera , thenn you are prompted for device drivers :- Select automatically and see if it finds it
If not , download the drivers you mentioned above , then specify where the drivers are in the hardware wizard and it should reinstall everything then orbicam should work again
ya go to the acerpamam website download the acer orbicam CCD driver 9.4.0.1120 software for windows.. run it ,open it then u will hace a choice to install all of the file or just the drivers. pick install software not just drivers then disable ur anti virus program and extract all the files with winzip.a second screen will popup that will have the full setup icon. after installation it will want to shut down , let it. after it restarts go back to acerpanam and download the acer orbicam logitek for vista, even if u dont have vista. ok thats as far as ive got. im going to finish it now. ill let u know how it works out.
