I have the same problem with the same TV.

TV comes on then after five seconds goes back off. Is there a solution without taken it to a repair shop?

Normally this is a internal regulator problem and can't be fixed without taking the shop

Vizio tv repair picture blurs and darkens for five seconds and then goes normal for five seconds and continues this cycle. i changed the tcon board and no change.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

Some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement.

It comes on and then it goes off

This just happened to me as well. Keep it plugged in for about five minutes without trying to turn it on. Then try. This will ultimately tell you that your convergence chip is out. If the screen comes back on, it will look distorted. This is most definantly that chip going out. I suggest a tv repair kit or trash it. Samsung lns4095dx/xaa after 30min the screen goes

The first place to start is with the Main bd. The second cause would be the T-con bd. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot to find out and repair the set.

Picture goes off after a while

Call 1-800-Samsung to set up a warranty service call. They will repair it in your home if they send a Samsung Field Engineer. You probably have a bad Main bd.

HP 1702 Monitor comes on but immediately goes off.

There are five capacitors on the power board which have dried out and need replacement. A reputable repair shop should be able to fix this for around $50.00 including labor.

Samsung 27"txj.....

This will need to be taken to a repair shop. You likely have either a bad solder connection that "opens up" when the set warms up, or a filter capacitor that is going bad. Depending on the picture quality and replacement value of the set, you may just want to replace it as the repair could run about $100 I would guess.
