Emachines w2828 keeps shutting down reboot/Screen Freeze

My emachines desktop keeps shutting down w/a reboot and sometimes the screen just freezes. I have restored the pc but the same thing keeps happening. Please help!

    In the begining it would down when using it but now it wont even stay on w/o shutting down and then I get a blank screen on the monitor. Not a blank blue screen like a greyish dark screen....

I dont thing this is a virus problem but a heat problem. if you dont mind getting inside the box see how clean it is and put your hand on the power box case .. then unplug all the hardware except the mother board then turn the unit on, if it goes on then plug 1 hardware at a time.

Could be RAM memory, Video/Graphic card, HD, power supply - your description is not that clear.But at least you know where to start.Can you hear fan working,or are there any lights on your power supply?Can you hear Hard drive starting?Open the tower and check memory modules - take out one at the time and try-sometimes changing their places will do. Emachines ET1810 desktop computer randomly powers down for seemingly no reason. Doesn't crash or freeze, just turns off, as if the plug was pulled. Started about 5-6 months after buying.
It could be overheating, and automatically shutting itself down, to avoid any damage.

Did you get the standard 12 month warranty when you purchased the computer? Did you purchase "extended" warranty? If so, contact Emachines, and get them to trouble-shoot and fix it.

IMAC SCREEN FREEZES OR GOES BLACK.
same thing happens to me - most of the time it will just randomly freeze; occasionally i get an unresponsive black screen. this 24' aluminum imac usually has startup problems also - sometimes it will "gong" and nothing else; sometimes the apple logo will come up and then nothing else; sometimes it will load the logo and then spin for a few seconds and then freeze - the only option is to manually shut down. there is no rhyme or reason to it

Your videocard is either not pushed in all the way or defective. Try to push it down into the slot. If problem still occurs, try a different videocard.

Screen saver freezes up how can I fix it?
You problably have some software conflict.
The easy way is disconnect your screensaver.

To do that go to:

Start >> Control Panel >> Display >> Screen Saver (select NONE) then hit OK
