I have a philips 42pf7320A/37 plasma tv. Why are there red horizontal lines on the screen? They are at the top and in the middle? It seems like it is not a software problem, the lines are there on tv mode and every other mode. We've unplugged it and reset it to factory settings to no avail. Do you have any answers? thnx
If the lines are going horizontally across and look like someone took a thin magic marker and marked across the screen, you have one of two problems, either some scan ic's have failed or you have a flex cable coming loose from the panel. Either way it will require repair. If it is the flex cable the cost to repair will be beyond the tv's worth because the whole panel needs to be changed to fix this. If it turns out to be the scan ic's, they can be changed or the board the ic's are on may be changed depending on how the repair is approched by the tech. But the cost would be reasonable around 200 to 250.
