I have 8 flashes on my Panasonic TCP60S30 - 60" Plasma.. Does anyone know what this problem is or how to fix it? I heard a big bang then screen went black, now I keep seeing 8 red light flashes.

8 blinks Driver SOS 3 SS Board (SS energy recovery circuit). This is the fault. Can you follow? Just check this site, and see whether it help you. It has details about the blinking codes and fault locations to Panasonic Plasmas.

Scratch on screen need a replacement.

Replacing the screen is not an easy task on a plasma TV since it requires complete disasembly of the TV and removal of the plasma panel itself. Its not something I suggest for anyone but qualified personel to attempt. : )

Panasonic TH-50PX20U plasma problem

There will be a fault with the plasma screen, you will have a dual scan type which is why it only covers half the screen. It is possible the flat ribbon connector to the screen internallly may have become loose7 needs to be re-fitted securely, but most often it is a replacement screen is required.

try auction or surplus electronic sites buy a broken plasma screen tv unit ask the seller if the outer glass is good most like they only sell it if the inner plasma glass is broken try that sometimes this is the easiest way unless you want to pay full price and parts site..i do have a 42" front glass thats good but i dont know if this fits the 50". hope this help

If the glass that you can feel on the front of the tv is cracked, then just replace the glass (called filter). The cost is about 150.00. If the pannel is cracked buy a new tv. It costs to much.
