I have a GE JGP932 gas cooktop. (I think) All 4 igniters are popping at once when trying to light one. This goes on for a good 2 mins or so before the burner will ignite. When it does, the gas flame is so feeble, it takes another minute at least to come to it's full flame. The cooktop has not been cleaned recently so nothing is wet.

Please advise! Thanks!

No, we are on natural gas that is city supplied. The cooktop is about 2 years old.

sounds like a bad valve or if all of them do it then you may have a bad supply.. are you on propane? you may need to fill the tank

All four a supposedto spark....most ranges are like that. Check for, in order and only as far as you're comfortable:

1. Partially closed gas valves
2. Kinked/twisted flex connector
3. Blockage in tubing (grease buildup is pretty common - blowing through it often works)

4. Clogged inlet screen on regulator. N.B. Only do this if you're confident you can reassemble it safely as it must be done safely and correctly. If not taken apart carefully, you may warp/bend a key component. If not reaasembled correctly you could have a gas leak.

Good Luck.

I have a GE 36" Profile Gas Cooktop JGP963 and when i light one of the burners, it trips the GFCI , main breaker and a little fire ball comes from under the knob. what could cause this?

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A SHORT IN THE IGNITER. YOUR COOKTOP SHOULD BE ON A DEDICATED CIRCUIT AND NOT A GFCI. YOU MIGHT HAVE TWO CIRCUITS TIED INTO THE SAME RUN. POPPING THE GFCI AND THE MAIN BREAKER IS SUSPECT. THE GFCI SHOULD SHUT DOWN THE CIRCUIT WITHOUT POPPING THE MAIN. THIS IS PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE LOOKED AT BY AND ELECTRITION.

I have a glass 4 gas burner stove top and cracked the glass, can I replace it? Its a GE Profile with a stainless steel front lip

Yes the glass is replaceable, you will have to order a new one, and you could do so through an appliance parts store. They can even put it in for you.

Piezo igniter won't quit

Possible stuck burner switch or failed spark module. Unplug unit. Remove wires from burner switches at module and plug back in. If it starts sparking, replace module. If it stops, then replace switch harness.

My glass top has a broken in the corner on my jgp932 cooktop range can i just get the glass top replaced and can i do it myself

I'm sorry to hear this. you can get just the top, but your lookingat somewhere between 300-700 dollars just for the glass. also this is not a common part and will probably be back ordered, so you'll be looking at a wait of 2-5weeks for the part. you can change it yourself but due to the cost of the glass I would have a service company change it so that if it breaks while changing they will have to pay for a second one and you wouldn't be stuck having 2 broken glasses

One igniter won't work right on my gas cooktop.

If you're not getting the ignitor sparking (you should hear it) when you turn the burner knob on for that burner, it could be that either the ignitor is dirty or caked with some gunk and needs to be cleaned.

The other issue could be that the ignitor is faulty and needs to be replaced. If you want to confirm a faulty ignitor before ordering a new one, you can swap it out with one of the other ignitors on the cook top. Be sure to unplug the cook top from the outlet thou, to prevent getting a shock, as those little sparkers can give you a pretty good jolt!

Just remove the grates and burners to get at the ignitor for cleaning it. To get at the ignitor, youll need to go under the cabinet or counter that the cooktop is installed on in order to remove the ignitor and swap it with one of the other ones. You'll see that these are held in place with a retaining clip you can remove with a flat bladed screwdriver, etc.

If you find that the one that isn't working is faulty, you can order one from your local appliance service store, or get one online. www.searspartsdirect.com lists parts for almost every appliance there is, just enter in the full model number to get a parts list, etc.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Ignition will not stop clicking...

Did you clean your stove recently? If the switches under the burner knobs get wet they will cause the burners to click. Unplug the unit or shut off the power for a day. Once the swithes dry, it should work normal.
