I believe your HDD must be a SCSI disk whose drivers might have come along with the HDD.While installing XP it gives an option to install third party drivers for your HDD, Hopefully after that it would start detecting

When i install MS windows server 2003 in IBM x3400 server it gives me message that setup could not find any hard desk installed in your computer.

The hard drive may only needs the data cables re-connecting or the hard drive may be faulty.
First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If this does not work then reboot and go to theBIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn'tdetect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer, Windows installed and the computer's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer again.

While booting in recovery console it is giving no hard disk found . Server IBM eServer x3400-[797712Q]. OS: Windows 2003 STD

try other good known hard disk install it on your server, if it detect the presence of that disk then your hard disk previously installed has the problem, it going to be defective sooner or already defective

When i install MS windows server 2003 in IBM x3400 server it gives me message that setup could not find any hard desk installed in your computer. guys please help me temor

Ensure drives are seated correctly and set up the RAID config.

Then on the Blue screen of Windows installation it will say "press f3 for 3rd party drivers", hit F3 (I think its F3), then insert a floppy disk with the drivers for you RAID controller, setup will then say it has found the followign drivers "your device xxx" then it should* pick up the hard drives later on in setup.

:) - RAID controller drivers can be got from the manufacturer websites.... normally.

I have a IBM X3400 Server. Linux is install in this server .when I install a new hard disk in this server its not showing the space. And yellow Error light is glowing .What I can do?

remove the leads from the hard disc and switch on the server.
Then switch off and reconnect the leads.Your pc server should recognise the hard disc.IF it doesn't it means your driver is corrupted.reinstall the driver.go to windows update and dowload and install new updates. If this fails go to the manufacturers website and download the driver for your server model number.Get help from your manufacturer.

Before Linux will show the new drive you have to mount the Drive so it knows what it is looking at. This should resolve the warning light issue as well. Unlike Windows most Linux Operating systems do not automatically recognize installed devices until they are mounted.

Confuguring raid5

Hi

You would need 4 Hard disk drives in total. you would need to create 2 RAID 0 (striping) and then Mirror them (RAID 1). to elaborate, HDD A&B will be at RAID 0 as well as HDD C&D. after, you would have to Mirror your two RAID 0. (raid 0+1 is also known as raid 5)

Hope this helps.

Hard disk no detect in installtion of window server 2003 32 bit oprating system how to install windows server 2003 (32bit) in ibm server x3400

You need to give windows installation the drivers for your Sata-Bus by pressing F6 while the installation load the drivers (like when we want to install on RAID drive). or do the following method follow the links in that page for Slipstreaming VIA Serial ATA drivers and the other link to create a boot CD Creating a bootable Windows CD with Nero.
it's all in the following link: http://weblogs.asp.net/jkey/archive/2005/08/28/423901.aspx
