I have a rainbow black e2 series. My power nozzle won't stay running but if I connect to the gas pump handle to the power nozzle l it works great. So I replaced both wand pieces and I'm still having the same issue. Kinda confused

It may be the pivot arm. That is the neck on the power head that the wands connect into. The way to check that is by putting the handle directly into the neck and with it running, move handle back and forth forward and backwards to see if it has a short in the hose part of neck

SOURCE: rainbow e2 series

Does the separator turn easily by hand? If it does, may be there is a problem with the carbon brushes. If this model is one that has the computor board mounted on top of the motor, there may be a problem with it.

SOURCE: I need to reassemble my rainbow e series electrified hose handle

Yes, it is a ground wire. When you put it back together, make sure that the two halves of the hose handle are holding the wire up against the metal. I just had one apart the other day for the first time and if I recall correctly, the wire goes near the center for reassembly. Hope this helps!

SOURCE: I don't know how to take apart me Rainbow e2 series vac.

I recently took mine apart because the motor stopped working. Realized the brushes were pretty well worn down and one side was completely gone. I was looking on the internet for detailed instructions on how to take it apart. I ended up just ripping it apart with no problems but made a tutorial to help you guys out. Here's a link to it

http://www.vacuumcleanerforum.com/f20/21715-how-take-your-rainbow-vaccum-apart.html

This is for the e-series vaccum, not the e2 but they pretty much have the same design and same motor (e2 has a 2 stage motor).

My rainbow was working, now the rug cleaner quit.

Does your power nozzle have a red power light? Your Circuit Breaker PN2E PN2 could be defective. Also check the hose connection to the front of the Rainbow. Be sure that it has both latches secure. This can cause power nozzle to not run.

Rainbow e2 type 12 120v , accidentally plugged into 220v, would barely power up, possibly controller board defective?

probably need both as the extra 100 volts would burn the board and the motor
it is never advisable to buy electric equipment from another country because of the voltage differences but even then the plugs are made different so that the cord will not plug directly into the power outlet.

Why won't my Rainbow E Series won't turn on?

It sounds like your motor is probably dead.
You would need a new motor if the Rainbow is getting power and the power nozzle works.

You can find a new motor here:

The belt on the power nozzle is so tight that it is not turning and the power nozzle won't turn on when you press the handle

Possible bearing in the motor or brush roll is locked up. Check to see if the light comes on. If it does not, then you have an electrical problem but that is a separate problem from the belt being tight. Let us know if you need service....www.rainvac.com

Need instruction to replace circuit breaker for Rainbow E series..

The factory has stopped using the circuit breaker in the power nozzles. Reason is that it is redundant as you can turn power nozzle off with the trigger in the handle if you get something caught or have an issue. Just wire all the leads together and bypass the reset button.

MY RAINBOW VACUUM HAS LOST SUCTION POWER AND i DON'T KNOW WHY

Your Rainbow E series has lost suction power, because you need a new hepa filter, ot your water basin gasket is messed up, or the center motor gasket is messed up or out of position.

Make sure your water basin is not cracked or broken, also.

I just purchased a rainbow D4C, after purchasing i was told i should have purchased the SE model. whats the difference?

There is only one difference between the D4 and the D4 SE, which stands for D4 (Special Edition). It is the exhaust plug screws in on an SE and snaps in on a regular D4.

Then the SE-PE came along, which stands for (Special Edition-Performance Edition) which has a more powerful motor, with larger motor brushes, for more power and runs on 9.8 amps, where the regular SE and D4 run on 8.8 amps. It also has the newer PN-2 power nozzle, which is very much like the latest E and E2 series Rainbow vacuums, instead of the earlier rectangular ones, that have the bottom metal plate, which will rust. You can upgrade your D4 to one of these, though you will need the electric hose with gas pump style handle, with the built in power corn in it.

They are all D4 models.

No power in power nozzle

Vacuumed with power nozzle one day working fine took attachment off to use crevice tool reattached power nozzle and no power whatsoever.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Rainbow E Series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum. The Rainbow Power Nozzle does have a reset button on the newer model on the top of the power nozzle, just push it and it should reset, or check all your pigtail connections to make sure they are connection and the cord leading to the actual Rainbow Vacuum itself. Out in left field might be that the power nozzle motor could be shorting out or not working or dead and might be in need of replacement. Check the cord for any frays or bad connections. If you have a problem please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
