My samsung dlp tv model hl-p5063 w cuts off multiple times while playing

My tv cuts off at various times during the evening. i can turn the power back on and it might stay on for a few minutes to a few hours. what causes this?

Mine has started doing the same thing. I've had it almost 2 years with no problems whatsoever. Recently changed the bulb. Now it'll just shut itself off seemingly randomly.

My 50" Samsung DLP TV will cut off by itself. I will then cut it back on and it may run for a minute to an hour than cut off again. What causes this? The set is about 1 1/2 years old.

Ss recent dlp sets have been having problems with the main cap on the balast module. You can replace the cap on the balast but the source of the problem is the main "smps" outputing to high a voltage.  It should be replaced to insure a lasting repair.

Hi, I had the same problem on my Samsung.

I removed the rear cover and cleaned the cooling fans, there were (2), it has worked fine ever since.

Be careful of course working with electrical boards.

My Samsung DLP hlr4667 turns itself off multiple time a night. Otherwise the picture quality is fine and no warning of a problem.

it may be faulty wiring or a bad dust buildup if its still under warning i would have it replaced otherwise it may be to risky to do it yourself

I have a Samsung 42" DLP. During the daytime I can hardly see the people and definition on the screen. It is all very dark. Nightime is better.

check your video settings there are 3 or 4 usually that all have various levels of brightness, it may be set to one of thelower ones. or you can go into tv menu and try kicking up the brightness. if no luck the lamp may be failing if not recently replaced they begin to make screen darker before they fail.

White dots appearing on Samsung TV screen and multipling each day

It seems you might have an issue with the dmd board. Go to the menu, and if the dots still show on the menu, the issue definitely is with the dmd board but if they don't come up on the menu, the issue will be with the video board.

Had a power outage while watching tv. Then 3 blinking lights.

This is an on-going problem with DLP sets. Normally you shut the set off and the cooling fan cools the lamp down and then it shuts off. In your case, of which it's not your fault, however your lamp has taken a major hit by not properly cooling down, in turn, you need to replace your lamp at this time.
I suggest in the future if you have an electrical storm and a chance of a power outage while your watching tv, I would'nt play that model or any other model of a DLP set.
