Monitor flashes image for split second then goes blank but green LED flashes as well
I have had the ViewSonic VX924 for about 1.5 years. Just this morning when I moved the mouse to wake up the monitor, the screen flashed an image for a split second and then went blank. However, I noticed that the green LED flashes as well.
I have plugged in other computers to the monitor and all display the same result. They work fine on a different monitor.
I have read in the manual a working that too high a resolution and refresh rate can "permanently damage" the monitor. Any help appreciated.
I'm not sure if I even chose the right monitor as my product. But I have had a KDSusa monitor that would go black when I booted it up. If I turned the monitor off then back on it would display an image for maybe 2 seconds tops then go black again. I sent it in and they sent me a diff. monitor. This one did the same thing after having it for a while. My dad said the brand must be cheap so he gave me his 19" LCD. This monitor I had for a few months and it has started the same thing but this monitor if I turn it off then back on about 5-6 times it will stay on. What could this be?

It is the picture picture board on your monitor that is
malfunctioning, since the power led or button is on, but the display
screen goes blank after a few seconds, it means the
board of your monitor has developed fault.
The best thing for you
do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity
or any service center
to help with the replacement of the picture board
because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to
t certainly seems like the monitor is not getting a signal. Did this
happen after you changed something, or just on normal boot up? It could be the video card that has failed. Also, check the pins on the connector; sometimes they can get pushed in. If you can, try swapping out the video card or use the monitor on another computer. Good luck,
Ok sounds to me like a power supply problem.. this a a fairly common symptom. I suggest that as a temporary fix you set the monitor to NOT turn the power off to the monitor in sleep mode if possible, in your power settings for the monitor.
Unplug the cable from your PC, if the monitor shows a test image, the monitor is fine and the problem is with your graphic card.
If you dont see nothing on-screen after unpluging the cable from the PC, then the monitor in damaged. Send it to repair.
while the monitor is still powered on, but with the LED flashing, unplug the monitor from the PC. press the power button, and the monitor should go off, now plug the pc back into the monitor. Turn the monitor back on and it should work.
Occasionally this will not work for me, but if I repeat it it normally works
Hope this helps - my problem is intermitant so it may be different to what u guys have
