I have a sony kp57Wv600. I have the signal coming through a samsung HD reciever utilizing the HDMI input. Becoming more often it will flash green quickly and sometimes shut off. This does not happen when I use any of the other inputs. The inside of the TV is extremely dusty and may have a lot of pet hair in it. Can this contibte to the problem? The little lights on the front did flash 7 times, but after letting the set sit it works fine. It will happen again though right in the middle of a Packer game I'm sure. Can I clean out the TV with a vac or air compressor?
Thanks!
You have a bad picture tube, no way to sugar coat this one, Sony had issues with all 3 tubes in your model set, more bad news, that green tube is "no longer available" from Sony, tried to order one about 2 months ago for a customer of mine, only the red tube is still available. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
I suppose the hdmi cable or connections could be bad, you should be able to verify this by flexing both ends of the cable to try & make it act up. the hdmi cable is a lot more complicated internally than AV or component cables are and I would say that the tube is arcing as the cathode "flakes" and the more sophisticated cable is showing it on screen, try running the set for a few weeks with component input and verify that the problem isn`t showing up, I only answered your reply with "bad news" because it is a common issue with your model set, hopefully you just have a bad hdmi cable or a few loose solder connections where it attatches to the board, good luck
That stopped the problem ?

Why does it only flash when I'm using the HDMI input? The other inputs work fine.
I actually opened the back and vacuumed it out and also used an air compressor to clean it out. So far so good! There was almost a quarter inch of dust in there and it gave me a chance to clean the lenses which also had a lot of dust on them. Thanks Again!
So far so good. It's been about 4 hours since I cleaned it. It was flashing every 3-4 minutes before hand this morning. I had the same problem with my lap top computer. it kept shutting down due to overheating. I vacuumed it out and blew air in it to clean it out. It worked! It's amazing how dust can make it overheat or whatever.
