From my experience, there is no such thing a as a free map update from Garmin.....good luck.

Not hard to do at all, you have two choices for that. Although one is a long shot by now.
Your first choice is that you could register your Nuvi with Garmin if you haven't already and see if they'd still let you qualify for a free update. More than likely not, but it's worth a shot.
The second choice is to buy the map update and insert the DVD into your computer and let the Update Wizard walk you thru it. It's actually pretty simple, but I will warn you that you'll probably won't have enough space to do the update so you'll have to delete some files you don't need anymore. there is no such a thing as free map update,unless there was a special offer on when you bought your Garmin.
