SOURCE: NEED A MANUAL FOR

Your scanner is one of the few that I have not been able to find a downloadable manual for. Your keyboard is identical to the UBC144XL though, and the programming steps are identical, although the frequency ranges are different. You can download and print the manual for the 144, at no cost, here:

SOURCE: how do I program a uniden BC 145xl base scanner

  • Press the power button to turn the scanner on.
  • Press "MAN" (for manual)
  • Now pick a channel where you want to store a frequency at and enter it on the keypad.
  • Now press the "MAN" button again to go to that channel.
  • Now enter the frequency you want into that channel and don't forget to include the decimal point.
  • Now press the "E" button (for enter) and you have programmed one frequency.
  • Repeat these steps until your scanner is programmed.
  • Now you can press the up and down arrow buttons to scroll manually through the channels or just press "scan" to scan through them.
  • Make sure to keep your squelch just above the noise so you pick up stations well.

  • Hope this helps.

Bearcat 140 scanner. It will scan but will not pick up any signals, even witha tower antenna? none at all and not myweather channels also.

If you are good with electronics, go to www.mods.dk. They have an alignment manual for the Bearcat 140 series that also includes troubleshooting advice and schematics.

Use the manual for the Bearcat 145XL. It is virtually the same radio as the 140.

The link to the file is:
