Hi, This is a common defrost problem, The ice is not being melted by the defrost system. he fan can't blow into ref. Take out back panel of freezer to check for icw build up. The coils should be clean. There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card. Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info Also check evaporator fan in freezer Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear Clean condenser coils underneath If this was helpful please rate me Thanks for using fixya Leo Ponder imufo2
There are three magor parts that control the defrost on your model MSD2756DEW Refrigerator. The=> MSD2756DEW Controls are inside the fresh food compartment and behind the controls on the top shelf. In that photo is position 13 That is your ADC or adaptive defrost control part number=> 61005988
Here is a PDF of a Maytag MZD2766GES and it has the same parts as yours so click here=> Maytag MZD2766GES Just use it for illistration or parts. Click here=> Defrost Heater Assembly to see that part and at bottom of page there is a short movie of how to test the defrost heater with an OHM meter. This is not hard to do if you want and I will be here if you need to ask other questions. If you have questions please let me know, Thank You, Sea Breeze
with out question your have a defrost problem . either the heater / thermo or adative defrost control has failed . i would ck the heater . i think you will find it ok . then replace ( don't ck it just rep it defrost thermo . and if problem does not go away then the a d contorl . and its a little harder to repl than the others. .. mm majic **** .
remove the back plate. check to see if the evaporater coils is completely iced over. If it is then your problem is the defrost system. the solution is either you timer, thermostat or element heater. very cheap to fix. if not, then check your damper. it may be that the mechanisim is not shuting or opening correctly and thus regulating air control to the right side of the refrigerator.
Chek the interior lights. Make sure they are turning off. One bulb will cause these symptoms. Is the bondensor coil hot( it's the coil under the unit. If it is, The fridge is working but has a heat source that won't quit or run out.
Sounds like you have a defrost timer issue. It could also be a defective defrost heater, or high temp. limit control. Most likely it is the defrost timer though. Hope this helps
The temp control working ok? Thye defrost element was burned? Your refrigerator has a adaptive defrost control also part number 12002104 Are condenser coils clean? Fans running bhelow and inside? I can help you if you need, Thanks, Sea Breeze
You might try vaccuuming under the frig to clean the coils so it could disapate the heat more. This could cause that sytem. Also if the fan is not working.
Hoped this helped. If not let us know.
