Check the outdoor coil. An air conditioner works by removing heat from inside the house, compresses it, and puts it outside the house. If the outdoor coil is dirty, it can't expel heat and your head pressure will rise until if finally turns the compressor off on high pressure. Turn power off to the outdoor unit and hose out the coil really well. Let me know if this fixes your problem.

SOURCE: Cool air when running; warm air when compressor is off.

It sounds as if warm outside air is being drawn back into the room when the unit is not actively cooling. Portable units depend on room air to carry the heat outside, & therefore will not work properly if the room is too airtight. Provide a makeup air passage by leaving the door slightly open, & see if this helps. Use a room thermometer to see if your desired temperature is being reached. Note that if the wind is strong & coming from the wrong direction, it may not be possible to prevent warm air drawback.

SOURCE: Kenmore room a/c not model 70088

you can test it by running it first at 9 and observe the compressor if it is continously running and cools the room. if it does, then 9 is the coldest and 1 is the hottest setting. but if the compressor would just run a little bit and stop at thermostat setting of 9, then its the reverse. i hope i was able to help.

My unit blows out cool air for maybe 3mins. Then warm air

Normal ACs (non inverter) work in the following way
  • The AC compressor runs continuously till set temperature is reached in the room
  • The compressor then switches off, but the blower fan in the wall mounter unit keeps running. Durint this time the AC fan blows air out at Room temperature (which feels warmer)
  • When temperature of room rises then compressor starts running again. During theis period the air coming out from the inner uny is cooled by the condenser coils
  • And the process is repeated.... as long as you keep AC running
Ac works this way throught the operation period.
Now if you feel that your AC keeps switching off and on very frequently check the following
  • Your AC may be over powered for room *for example a 1.5 ton AC installed in a scenario where 1 ton is enough)
  • If there is voltage fluctuation in your area then the compressor may keep shutting don on large voltage swings
    • Solution: Get a Stabilizer
  • You have set the temperature setting too high. Max temp suggested for ACs is 25 degree Celsius, any higher will mean the compressor shuts down often. Remember every compressor shutdown and startup draws a high starting current
    • Set AC temperatures between 22 and 24 degrees Celsius
  • The thermostat/ Temperature sensor is faulty
    • Get unit inspected by Authorized technician
  • There is dust buildup on the outer unit / compressor unit. The dust buildup may cause overheating by preventing efficient heat exchange, This may lead to overheating of compressor and it shuts down to, prevent damage to itself
    • Get unit serviced by Authorized technician
  • The fan motor of the outer unit is not working properly
    • Get unit inspected by Authorized technician
Remember to get the AC serviced at least thrice a year to ensure smooth operation

Does this model shut off automatically when the desired room temperature is reached or does it function on a low medium high type of thermostat that continuously runs? IR 3 0 p m d g - 1

if it is an inverter type air conditioner ( make not indicated) the unit runs continually but the compressor delivery is reduced thereby reducing the load on the motor
as the room warms up again the compressor starts to pump more gas to keep the room at the desired temp setting
older types shut the compressor down and restarted when the high temp was reached

Why does the split unit blow hot air in air conditioner mode, when switched on with the remote control.

because you have the temperature set at 28 degrees celcuis . Change the temperature to 18 degrees and it will cool 28 is hotter
It is a reverse cycle air conditioner it will warm the room if you set temperature to 28 degrees . Set it lower and it will blow out cold air.
Have exact same air conditioner as I recognise the remote control.
point it at the air conditioner when altering the temperature setting.
Check under the slide compartment also on the remote for more advanced settings.

My panasonic air conditioner does not turn off when cooling

At what temperature is the thermostat?
The temperature should never be lower than 70?F (21?C) for the unit to operate properly. If your temperature setting is above 70?F, then your unit might have a problem with the temperature sensor that controls the "on/off" cycle on your unit. For that you will need a professional certified HVAC tech to inspect it.

Most people think that lowering the temperature to the minimum will cool the room faster, but that is not the case. Since HVAC units move the air at a specific rate, it can only transfer the temperature, thus cooling/heating the air, within those parameters. That's what the calculation for the BTU is for. Normally cooling/heating the room to the desired temperature should take about 1 hour, but some new inverter units can do it in only 30 minutes or so. Lowering the temperature constantly or even keeping it at the lowest setting may cause premature failure of the unit.

E1 Compressor high pressure protection
I suggest that a qualified service technician look at the unit, since it is pretty complex. I would start by calling a company which servies your type of unit and tell them you have an Error code E1, Compressor high pressure protection.
