Cool air when running; warm air when compressor is off.

Jusr purchased a new Sharp portable stand-alone model. When the unit is actively cooling; no problem..lots of cool air coming from the unit. But, when the condensor cycles off, the unit blows luke warm air into the room. I'm never convinced the room temperature is reaching the desired temperature, and when I open the door, the air in the hallway, which is being cooled by just a fan, feels cooler. The room is a small bedroom and the blinds are dark and closed (this is our kids room.) Thanks!

It sounds as if warm outside air is being drawn back into the room when the unit is not actively cooling. Portable units depend on room air to carry the heat outside, & therefore will not work properly if the room is too airtight. Provide a makeup air passage by leaving the door slightly open, & see if this helps. Use a room thermometer to see if your desired temperature is being reached. Note that if the wind is strong & coming from the wrong direction, it may not be possible to prevent warm air drawback.

I bought a DeLonghi PACC120E portable a/c with no manual. The unit does not cool, and it dumps water. How do I get it to blow cool air?

I would drain the water out of the machine via the plug on the back once the unit is drained turn on, wait a few minutes. If compressor does not come on or comes on and does not cool, you need service beyond diy.

My ge ac model APE07AHM1 is not blowing cold air. What could be the problem?

This is an old question, but I am having the same problem with APE07AHM1 that I bought second hand. I'd like to recharge it.

The answer by binev_78 seems to be for outdoor AC compressor units but this is a portable stand alone unit, no outdoor unit.

Kenmore AC compressor on and off while outside unit fan running

If the out door fan keeps running and the compressor cycles off that would be the overload in the compressor.
What keeps the windings cool is the refrigerant back to the compressor.
For the overload to cycle it would have to be either not enough cooling back to the compressor or high amp draw, which could be the metering device (txv or orifice) or low on charge, or other things would be a bad capacitor, sometimes a bad start relay not staying open, when compressor gets up to speed or anything causing the compressor to draw high amps.
To check the refrigerant, he needs to check the superheat at the compressor it should be appoximately 12° to15°, and next time the compressor goes off if you shut the power off and feel the top of the compressor and if it's hot 130° or higher it's probably refrigerant.

My CV-13NH portable type room air conditioner won't blow cool air

If its blowing air, but not cold, the compressor isn't engaging. There are many different possibilities on this.
Bad compressor, unit out of gas, bad run capacitor, etc, all could cause this, even a bad control panel.

Hope its something simple.

Not cooling

every single component in your cooling unit is needed for it to work, so anything can shut it down. If you could provide more information as to what type of unit you have: is it a central heat and air package unit? or central split system (furnace indoors and condenser outside)? or a wall a/c? Does any part of the system/unit do anything?

Sharp Air Conditioner. Model # AF-S85NX. Does this A.C. fan cycle on & off in the auto cool mode or does remain on continuously. I need a small A.C. that cycles off and on with the compressor.

If you set you r AC to FAN mode the unit will not cool, it only runs in the indoor but the outdoor will off. If you set to AUTO the unit will cool but the indoor blower will automatically run slower when the room is cool or attain the room temp. setting. If you set it to COOL the fan speed is fix depending on your setting and it also operate in cool.
