Question about Husqvarna Sewing Machines

1 Answer

Husqvarna viking designer ruby error message says "Machine needs to rest. Wait a moment and touch OK when it is enabled."

There is a noise that is very hard to describe. Almost like a top spinning/grinding. The machine will quit unexpectedly or will make that noise and then I get the error message above. The needle needs to be raised and then the machine seems to jolt and then continues on embroidering.

SOURCE: help setting Viking Designer I machine for free motion quilting

I assume you are doing free motion quilting? Use the V Menu, choose the first stitch. If you are using the Q Sensor foot or the spring free motion foot, go into the Set menu, hit "More" twice then turn On for either the Q Foot or Free motion. Make sure you have Needle Down turned on (top right-hand button on the left side above the needle). You might need to loosen the top tension by one or two clicks - first screen of the Set menu, under the picture that looks like DNA. A Size 90 needle is probably best and if the quilt is difficult to move about you might like to either use the Sewing Advisor to set for Heavy fabric or lessen the upper presser foot pressure - Set menu once again, next picture after the DNA. I have never had to do this with my D1 but I know some other people have. Get back if things are not working well for you.

SOURCE: Husqvarna Viking Designer 1 keeps breaking needles

The threading may be out of the channels. Rethread. Put in a fresh needle. Make sure you are using an embroidery needle and a new one for each new project. You can't use YLI bobbin thread. It stinks. If all this doesn't help, take it in to be checked These work great when there is not thread stuck in the bobbin case and it is threaded properly. If all is well, it will go like gangbusters.

SOURCE: Husqvarna Viking Designer I breaking needles

Dls8864's suggestion was a very good suggestion - make sure the metal stitch plate is pushed all the way to the back. Also make sure that the thread is feeding freely - if it is catching on something it can cause the needle to be pulled aside and make it break. Does the design fit properly inside the hoop you are using? If the foot and/or needle strike against the side of the hoop, that will cause a breakage. Is the bobbin thread okay - not making a bird's nest underneath?

SOURCE: The touch screen will not

Hi, this is a common problem to any touch screen. Touch screens has lesser life than the machine. You screen has gone bad, and you may have to replace it. There is no troubleshooting guide. And there is nothing wrong with your machine. Just that the touch screen has gotten old and not working.

Take it in and have them do a once over. Something could have been knocked out of adjustment during sipping.

1034D Serger is grinding and top thread not catching bottom to loop. What can I do?

Ooooh, unfortunately you may need to take it for service. It could be out of time. The "grinding" is of concern since continued use may cause more damage and cost to repair.

My bernette has quit picking up the bobbin thread. Does the piece on the left do that or what? If so it hasn't any "spring" to it. When we touch scissors it has a terrible grinding noise..

If your top thread is no longer picking up the bobbin thread, it has probably been knocked out of time. It sounds like you need to take it for service.

what kind of grinding noise does it make?

try changing the needle--use a needle that is for the fabric being sewed

My Janome 7025 is making a grinding noise but sews perfectly. Why

That's not a good thing to hear. I'd get some oil to it asap. If that sound is due to a gear grinding, it will soon wear out or seize up if you continue using it.

Best to take the outer machine shell off. There should be a few screws to undo to get the top and bottom off. Then, just a drop of sewing machine oil at every spot where metal touches metal should help.

Not stitching correctly after using pattern selectors - zigzag very messy stitch

Describe in more detail a messy stitch. It may be the cam follower that creates the patterns is not aligned and is contacting two different cams at the same time. The machine then sews both patterns at the same time. The solution may require an expert.

I have Singer Machine 7470 and when i try to fill the bobbin on top of the machine it make a noise and it wouldn't spin it keep making a noise. Please help

Noisy top bobbin winders is usually caused by no oil on the spindle, or the noise could be coming from a dry top shaft under the balance wheel which is very common
