Have you checked fuel system including filter and supply line for any restrictions?
The main jet of the carburetor isn’t free. Use torch tip cleaners to gently and non-forcefully clean it out. Sometimes you can run at it’s max speed (according to its limits) and get a clean new shop rag, all corners bunched together and completely cover the intake throat bogging it down then swiftly pull the rag away several times and sometimes it will free up the trash in the man jet
Starts runs for thirty seconds then dies put new fuel filter changed plug still the same
Could be tank vent, loosen fuel cap and see if problem goes away.
Check fuel shutoff valve is open all the way.
If still a problem, disconnect fuel line at carburetor and check fuel flow. Fuel should run freely out end of line. If it just drips or barely more than a drip, either the fuel valve not open all the way or blockage in tank or line.
If fuel flow into carburetor is ok, then likely you have debris in tank and it has plugged the carburetor inlet. Install a 75 micron in line fuel filter and reconnect fuel line to carb. Remove carburetor bowl, look for debris in bottom of bowl. Check fuel flow through inlet needle valve. With bowl removed and fuel ON, there should be a steady trickle of fuel.
Check inlet manifold bolts are tight

Hi, Check that you have the correct spark plug fitted or fit a new one as it sounds like your plug is getting hot then shorting out.
Sometimes the magnito can do this as well. but I would start with the plug.

Take the carb apart and clean it. Carb spray should do the job. Check the little holes in the brass part that goes down thru the float bowl. Run the engine out of fuel at the end of the season, don't let gas sit in the carb too long.

A lot of time when the small motors on these push mowers surge it is a governing spring that is weak or broke. It does not hold enough tension and causes the valve to fluctuate. I have fixed this many time for a relatively cheap amount (under $5).

I made a pdf...with before and after pic's of
how to rebuild this carb...it's quite unique in fuel pump design and simplified governor operation...
...
running well this 19.5 twin - fan cooled...is like a 25HP !
the carb kit from B&S is generic...w/extra parts...
I have pic's of the actual ones used/needed for this
carb... Main jet is mis-labeled...it's a bowl vent !
There are no jet's to adjust on this carb...

Took carb. off and cleaned and put new kit in. Carb. is self choking. Put new primer bulb in. Will run with starting fluid then stop. Not getting any gas. Could carb. be clogged. I soaked it in carb. cleaner and blew out. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
