Comfort Aire PS-81A Leaking water on the floor even with drain hose installed that goes outside.

I have a drain hose screwed on that goes out a window per the instructions but there is water leaking from under the AC unit. Yes, I took the plug out before I screwed on the house which "should" have made the unit drain into the hose not the tray. How do I make the water go to the drain hose and not on my floors??? Nothing in the manual about how to fix water leaking. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the advice. I raised the air conditioner up off the floor onto a table so the drain hose on the unit was higher than the window where the house went outside. That seemed to fix the issue. Previously the water would have needed to drain up and out of the house rather than a downward flow.

SOURCE: water leaking under the unit dripping on the floor

Sometimes you will get a dripping if the unit is not level, or a seal on the drain hose might be loose. but i would check to make sure the unit is leveled properly.

SOURCE: amana nav5800aww water on floor after spin cycle

Sounds very similar to having something such as a sock or small article of clothing that is too large to be sucked down the drain hose into the pump. So what happens is it hangs around between the inner and outer drums and sometimes gets itself lodged over the drum drain hole, and can allow water to be centrifically flung over the top of the drum. Most times when the spin cycle stops, the article of clothing will dislodge and float around inside the drum only to do it again later....
If you can remove the top of the machine, you can usually see the gap between the two drums and use a piece of coathanger wire with a small hook on the end and "go fishing in the area between the two drums and close to the drain hole location... bet you'll find something in there... Let me know how it goes... and if I can help .. ken

wow, that's a weird one there. just to check, you did turn thr drain connection all the way down and remove the cap? nothing inside the drain connector? the hose is not too small or run too far? is the water coming out of the hose and in to the bucket at the same time if it is I would think ther is an internal leak somewhere and take it back for an exchange if new. good luck let me know if this wasn't any help for ya

Wet floor on passenger side 2010 gran vitara

Rich,
3 possibly.
1, heater core or heater hose(s) might be leaking. The smell of antifreeze is the tell, also if your vehicle engine coolant keep getting low.
2, is the a/c drain leading outside is clogged or stuck closed. A/C condinsation sweats water and is directed outside, if clogged then water builds up and enters inside. Don't know if you noticed water when using a/c on outside floor, that's what suppose to happen.
3, is windshield seal or passenger side door seal leaking on during rain or washing vehicle.
Betting on clogged drain!

Good luck!

I have a comfort-aire RG-61A window AC. Can it be installed sideways? or only installed horizontally?

Only horizontal. The compressor won't run for long otherwise. The condensate drain would let water inside too.

My Comfort-Aire Dehumidifier has started leaking water. The unit works fine but the water bucket does not retain all the water. As the bucket fills there are slow leaks. Also, sometimes when replacing the...

It can have leaks from the condenser to the bucket. The piping and hoses should be checked all the way. Perhaps even replaced or at least cleaned. I don't think it is wise to do this yourself. Because in the system also can be algae, bacteria and viruses. And you need tools and skills to replace defective tubes, pipes or gaskets.

JENN AIRE LEAKING WATER ON FLOOR. NOT SUPPLY LINE PROBLEM. HELP

Open freezer, remove lower crisper & look for solid ice on freezer floor & area at rear of freezer. If present, defrost drain is restricted. Depending on make & model remove ice, remove rear wall and clear defrost drain trough and drain path. Verify by removing kick panel, pour a cup of near boiling water through drain and watch as it drains into pan. Once clear, pour one ounce of bleach into drain tube. Also check as water is draining into pan that the pan is not leaking due to pan cracks. This solution is based on the fact that you are stating no hoses are bad.

It keeps leaking water, and we cannot determine from what source..It will run for a while and then there is water all over the floor..We do not overfill.

Water is a normal by product of the air conditioning process. Window units must slope downwards, outside. Inside units collect the water in a tray that needs to be drained, manually.
The source of the water is condensation, like the water that forms on the outside of a glass of ice water. Actually, the removal of moisture helps in comfort. Water quantity will vary based on relative humidity....

Water not draining into bucket and leaking on floor

Unplug the unit and remove the water collection container. Using a flash light, look into the inside of the unit where the collection container was. There should be a plastic or rubber tube or just a hole where the water would drain into the container. Does it appear clogged? If not, carefully use a 12" long Zip Tie that will fit into the hose or the hole and carefully and slowly run the Zip Tie into it as far as you can. While rotating the Tie, pull it back out. If this area was clogged, it should dislodge the clog and the water should start draining as it should.

Hope this helped solve our problem. Please let me know.

Water leaks around the bucket even the bucket is in place-bucket collects a little bit of water

It sounds like you need to check the drain under the cooling section. It can fill with dust, lint, cat hair, spiders, etc. and prevent water from draining into the bucket. First, unplug the unit. Don't do anything with AC power present. Then, remove the 2 screws under the front panel where the air filter slides up in and pull off the control panel. There are "snap" latches in the plastic near the top that can be (are) hard to undo, so be careful. You might want to have work gloves on because of sharp edges. Prying with a screw driver will cause permanent dents in the plastic. Also, there is a small, sleeved bunch of wires that goes up the left side to the operator buttons and display. Be careful not to damage it and the circuit board it goes to. Set the front panel aside, wire attached. There is no need to disassemble any of that. The drain is a small 3/8" hole in the black plastic floor of the cooling area at the front, right side. It seems to have a fitting for a hose that feeds through to the back of the unit. Clean any foreign material from it and everything else. Test it, with the bucket in place, by pouring some water in, if you want to. Then clean the dust off of everything so it looks new. Don't get the circuit board wet. Re-assemble, being careful with the front panel wire so it is not pinched and does not prevent easy removal/installation of the filter, and it should be OK.
