I have a comfort aire PE 121A, it leaks water out the bottom.

I have the bottom port plugged, and the top I let drain into a bucket to slow down how much water leaks from the bottom. What is wrong? How do I get into it to see the reservoir that people talk about, there is not anything on the outside like this.

I have an Uberhaus portable air conditioner that empties excess water out a port on the back into a bucket. It's been leaking more out the bottom than into the bucket. please advise.?

The drain port can clog, get restricted by condensed moisture by alga or anything. Try to flush, back flush thru the port, not too much at a time, see what comes out. Particles stick to moisture on cold evaporator and drain out with condensation. Sometimes heavily, sometimes nothing.

Bucket removal is extremely difficult. What should I do?

There's usually a piece or tubing that hangs down into the tank and you need to pull your tank past this when removing it to drain your dehumidifier. Are you lifting from the top or bottom? Try the opposite of what you are doing. Sorry I don't know your model specifically, but often there's an outlet or cap at the bottom of the tank that can have a plastic piece of aquarium type tubing hooked to it. This way if you can elevate the whole dehumidifier, say on a counter, the water can just drain into a sink or if you're a real conserver into a storage tank to use to flush your toilet or water your grass.

My Comfort-Aire Dehumidifier has started leaking water. The unit works fine but the water bucket does not retain all the water. As the bucket fills there are slow leaks. Also, sometimes when replacing the...

It can have leaks from the condenser to the bucket. The piping and hoses should be checked all the way. Perhaps even replaced or at least cleaned. I don't think it is wise to do this yourself. Because in the system also can be algae, bacteria and viruses. And you need tools and skills to replace defective tubes, pipes or gaskets.

It runs but leaks water, water won't stay in bucket

Denise, there are several things that can cause the problem.

1. The water collection bucket is not installed properly. Turn the unit OFF and remove the bucket. While you have it out, look at the top of the bucket, is there a float valve near the top. If so, it may be stuck in the DOWN position, which tells the dehumidifier the bucket is not full yet. Jiggle the arm of the float valve to see if it moves freely. Reinstall the bucket bucket "squarely" from top to bottom into it's holder. The bottom should not tilt down at all, if installed properly.

2. The drain tube to the bucket may be clogged. To solve this problem do the following:

Remove the water collection bucket and look up inside the bucket holder cavity. You will see either a drain hole or small tubing that drains the water into the bucket. Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hole or tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reinstall the bucket, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor it for any leakage.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
.

3. The water you're seeing may not be from the bucket overflowing or leaking. It's condensation that is has built up on the cooling coils and is dripping down under the unit. If this is the case, it's an indication that the coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Warm water and dish washing liquid works well to clean the coils. Be sure to rinse them with a damp rag, dry thoroughly and spray a light coating of WD40 on them.

I hope that all the information I have provided will help you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I bougth an Uberhaus Airconditioner R410A. It is draining out onto the carpet, while I use the airconditioner, We hadn't attached the drainage tube! Is this supposed to be constantly drainned or does...

If this is the 3-in-1 air conditioner, then you have two options:
1- do you see two drain outlets on the back? one is at the very bottom and has a removable plug and the second should be about half way down also with a removable plug. This air conditioner has a small non-removable tank that will fill up and a red light on the panel will light up and the machine will switch to FAN mode when full. Then you have to roll the machine to a drain and unplug the bottom plug to let it drain out. Not resonable.Probably good for a basement with a drain in the floor, but not on the main floor or 2nd storey floor.

2nd method is to unplug the top drain (Keep the bottom drain plugged) , attach the plastic hose that the machine came with to this drain, find a bucket that is at the same height or below the top drain and let the water drain into the bucket. Then when it gets about 3/4 of the way full, empty the bucket. This way the airconditioner mode and the humidifier mode will work continously.
This is the way this type of air conditioner is made.

Hope that helps

I have a slow blinking red light - not working

Normally, the slow blinking red light, indicates that the water collection tank/bucket is full and needs to be emptied. If the bucket is NOT full, it indicates that the tank/bucket was not installed or reinstalled properly, because it did not make secure contact with the bucket removal safety switch. Removing the bucket and reinstalling it properly will normally resolve the problem. Make sure the bucket fits squarely into it's holder from top to bottom.

In case you have misplaced your Owner's Manual, I have included a link to it, that you can download and print for future reference. http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/content/pdfs/117029-1.pdf

I hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know. Thanks.
