If it is lighter-weight fabric, probably. However, vinyl is sticky and will tend to grab the surface of the sewing machine and the presser foot. You can try using a teflon, roller, or walking foot for the top/ Then lay tissue paper underneath the vinyl to allow it to feed through the feed dogs. If you don't have any of the presser feet, you can also lay tissue paper on top of the vinyl.

First the simple solution. Make sure your needle is inserted flat side to the back and all the way up.
The only other thing I can think of is that your hook is out of time and this will take a technician to re-time it. You may need to take it in for a servicing.
SOURCE: Machine not working after bobbin installation
Hi, it may be possible that you put the bobbin in the case upside down and its turning the wrong way. Flip it over and try it. When looking at the bobbin in the case from the back and you pull the thread, it should turn clockwise.
Hope this helped as anything else may take a tech to diagnose.

Take your machine in to a Bernina dealer for service. It could be you need a new foot pedal, or if could be something else.

You can only oil the moving parts that you can see unless you want to take the machine apart which I do not recommend.
