SOURCE: Not able to scan for digital OTA channels on a JVC LT-32X667 LCD

Seeing as it does not have a digital tuner in it, I would think this would be the problem, you will have to get a box for it.

SOURCE: no sound on sony tv

Your set may have a choice of audio sources and outputs in the basic (initial) setup since it is not uncommon to mute the internal speakers and get your sound from a home theatre system or receiver. Also, if you are using S-video connectors between converter and set, there is no sound path, this is video only, and you will have to add a couple of cables, likely with RCA connectors, between the two.
For reference: Audio cables: Red=right channel, White=left.

My TV is not picking up channels

Check the antenna. If it is an old analog type, you may need a digital to analog convertor box. All new over the air transmissions are digital and not picked up by older TV's

What do ineed to watch this tv now that we have digital services

Yes you do. Not only do you need a convertor box but an antenna to connect to the convertor box. The convertor box will have to be plugged in and depending on the antenna it might have to be plugged in. This tv does allow and external antenna to be connected to it. This is where you will attach the convertor box with whatever adaptor you may need. The tv will need to remain on channel 3 at all times.

Switching reception from analogto digital

You may not have to do anything.. Most TVs that can receive digital video over the air don't really need much to be set up for this. If not already-> Go to the TV's own setup menu and chose an option for TV/antenna setup. This will go up the dial and 'tune itself' to every available TV channel over the air (make sure you have an antenna of some kind- any antenna). Since analog will be gone (supposedly today) it should only tune to digital channels. If using a convertor box- there really isn't much to "switch", the analog channels will just go away.

Need to know if my tv is digital or analog?

most new tv's are digital capable...
but here is the trick the convertor box are only for those who don't have cable or satellite service if you use only an antenna to get channels then yes you will need a converter box for each tv that uses only the antenna to get channels if you have satellite or cable service then they don't need a converter box even if they have basic cable they won't need the box there channels are already digital converting now there are a few events that was in anlog but there are being converted as best as possible but you may notice the difference in the pictures betwwen analog (usaully old time movies or show even commercials) Digital (most everything now that are new stuff are digital and even in hd now)...

Convertor box and Sony Wega with PIP (2 Tuners) and new Digital DVR/VCR

I wonder if the RF interference from the digital tuner. That box will only allow ouput either through the coax or the AV ports. If you do both you will not get a picture.

If you switch them you have to tell the box what your using for output by going through the setup process.

Is the Zenith 901 converter box for your cable TV.

Ilo DVD player/recorder

> jfthr - Tv convertor boxes transfer digital signals into ANALOG. So when it goes to the dvd recorder it IS ANALOG. I have my antenna hooked to my convertor box, the converter hooked up to the ILO (A/V connections) then, the output on the ILO to the input of my analog tv. (Video selection on my tv). It works great to watch tv and/or record. I switch to the "DVD SOURCE" to watch dvds. Maybe you have the conv box hooked to the tv then the outs on the tv to the dvd. That would explain why you can get a picture but not watch dvd? The ILO has to go between the box and the tv in order to watch dvd.
